September 5, 201114 yr Most people probably know the airstairs on 737s are a pain in the arse. They are quite commonly removed from 737s, especially the rear ones since they are even more convoluted than the forward ones in the way they unfold and are not unknown to thrash themselves to bits when failing to unfold properly, so removing them was a sensible choice for many operators as it not only saved on maintenance and potential despatch delays, but also reduced the aircraft's weight by a useful 390lbs. I should imagine CS will do what they have done with the 727, i.e. go with what was the most popular options for the main model and have the other variants put up with not being 100 percent accurate, which may disappoint purists but would kind of make sense where the 737-100 is concerned when 'developing to a price', since only thirty of the 100 series were ever made by Boeing and 22 of those went to one airline alone (Lufthansa), most other customers realised that the 200 series variant - which was developed and certified concurrently with the 100 - was a better option, especially in its later ADV incarnation when the flaps and reversers were improved. With regard to flight performance, at this stage I entirely expected it to not come with a finalised flight model by any means, and I was in fact surprised that it was a close as it currently seems to be. Shouldn't be an issue anyway even if CS arsed it up, which I doubt they would, because if there's one thing we have had for a long time, it's plenty of decent 737 flight models to screw about with, it's only now we are getting the eye candy and cockpit systems to go with them. In truth I am looking forward to a decent 200 series 737 more than I was the PMDG NG actually, as I tend to prefer the 'old bangers' and apparently the 200 is the nicest handling of all the 737s if most pilots who've flown all the models are to be believed. September 5, 201114 yr Indeed all we need now is a DC-8 and I can't think of anyone better or more qualified than Captain Sim to do it.
September 6, 201114 yr Yes cannot agree more - Captain Sim do good job both with old classics and modern jets. And I do believe they'll keep their promise and release interior which I'll buy for sure. So why wait if I get 9,99 discount so basicly et exterior for free now? I'm not the one who sit and wait LOL Regards,Stan
September 6, 201114 yr I bought it. I don't know how anyone can complain about this plane. It looks really good and it's only $9.99. CS should look at the contact points, though. Upon touch down the main wheels are floating above the runway like some default planes do. I hope they release the rest of this package soon.
September 15, 201114 yr And the -200 has arrived. Still waiting for the full model though, but the external model is once again nice and currently is flying the 737-800 VC.
September 15, 201114 yr Author Sweet she looks fantastic! I didn't even noticed they had just released the 737-200 lol thanks Coolp Cesar Martinez AMD 7800X3D RTX5080 NZXT N7 B650E | G.Skill 32GB DDR5 Samsung 980 Pro 2TB | Crucial MX500 (2×) | Crucial P3 Plus Monitor: Philips Evnia 34M2C6500 QD-OLED
September 15, 201114 yr Not got that one yet, but I will, looks nice, although it seems to be the early variant with the narrow pylons, guess they're gonna make us pay for the other variant LOL. Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
September 15, 201114 yr Nice banner, Alan. Still waiting for William Shatner to talk the FS2Crew stuff. Patrick Steward would be ok too. guess they're gonna make us pay for the other variant LOL.Don't worry, only one variant is left open. Eagerly awaiting a VC like the one in the 707 though. Steam gauges fan's dream! Oh, here's some more official statement.Ok, what we've got for now: 1. 737-100 exterior model is out. It's just an appetizer. One day the model will turn into 737-100 Base Pack as soon as the interior and systems are ready. (The 737-100 exterior model customers will pay the base pack price minus 9.99) 2. 737-200 Expansion Model is out. It's all done, so when the 737-100 Base Pack is out you just reinstall latest version of the -200. Other expansion models:For sure:- 737 Freighter Expansion Model (feat own interior cargo cabin)Probably:- 737-200 ADV Expansion Model If there will be enough customers' interest upon the initial three products release, we'll consider further expansions to the 737 family (more models, avionics versions etc) We have to wish for the Gravel Kit I guess. I'd love to see it.
September 15, 201114 yr Snowjet flew 300 Series 737s in and out of Sion (not sure if they still do), so if a 300 can make it, I guess a 200 can. Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
September 15, 201114 yr Indeed they do AL, Thanks for the info. What about new gen jets Vs classic jets compared to engine power and required takeoff runway, as sion is a rather short runway. Regards Luke M
September 15, 201114 yr From what I've just read on the Captain Sim website it says "737-100 base pack required" So does this mean you have to spend 9.99 on the 737-100 and then another 9.99 on the 737.200? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

September 15, 201114 yr Pretty much... For two external models, it's $28. Not worth it in my book... Ditto.
September 15, 201114 yr It's that price yes, but then that gets deducted off the purchase price of the finished article if you buy it, so it is simply throwing a few quid at them in advance - out of what you intend to pay - for an advanced preview of it, which I guess is worth it if you definitely intend to buy them, since you aren't actually losing anything in doing so. I'm not in any great rush to see the 200 Series model; I can get an idea of what it looks like from the 100 I've already previewed. I'll certainly buy these when they are done though, since CS are able to make very good steam gauge airliners, and the 737-200 ADV is one of my favourite 737 variants, but I'll settle for a good 200, which is close enough. All that said, I do agree that it is a bit cheeky making the 100 a necessity to get the 200, since the 100 was only flown by a few airlines and as far as I'm concerned, the only 100 I'm remotely interested in as far as a decent simulation is concerned, would be NASA 515.
