I got the Aerosoft Beaver working in P3D !!!Here is, what you need to do, to get missing Beaver gauges (3) working.1) Go to Beaver panel directory and take Beaver.CAB to any empty working directory and extract the cabinet file.2) Open gyro.xml with any text editor3) Remove second line, which reads <!DOCTYPE Gauge SYSTEM "../gauges.dtd">4) Save gyro.xml5) Do the same with files hsi.xml and vertical.xml6) Create a new Beaver.CAB file and put it back into the panel directory. That's all.If you are afraid of making mistakes; send me a PM and I will mail you my Beaver.CAB fileBruno

Bruno - thank you, thank you, thank you.I've been struggling to get the Aerosoft Airbus X working - I had the same problems as Ian upthread - and the following fix you suggested worked perfectly:

3) Remove second line, which reads <!DOCTYPE Gauge SYSTEM "../gauges.dtd">
That was exactly it.To get the Autopilot and MCDU working in the Airbus X, I openedsome XML files, removed " <!DOCTYPE Gauge SYSTEM "../gauges.dtd">" from the top, saved them....and now it's working nicely. Might still be a few things I need to test, but it's looking far better. The XML files I edited were:/Panel/AB_Systems/AP1Disp.xml/Panel/AB_Systems/AP2Disp.xml/Panel/AB_MCDU/MCDU2.xml/Panel/AB_MCDU/MCDU1aA321.xml/Panel/AB_MCDU/MCDU1aA320.xmlRemoving the doctype entry at the top and saving fixed it for me. Hopefully it fixes it for others as well.

Hi,I am happy that I was able to help you.Bruno

Well thanks for that guys, thanks muchly. But I don't trust myself to do that editing. So if anyone could PM me the Airbus X revised Cab or XML file I would be eternally grateful. I just don't use the Beaver.

KInd regards,

How to divert FSX aircraft installers to P3DHi,Member FSMP (Geoff Ambrose) has made earlier statement below. There may be some issues in INSTALLING FSX planes in P3D, if the plane's Installer is specifically locked to installing into the FSX directories ( typically determined by looking for, and reading FSX REGISTRY entries) -- but that can normally be quite easily overcome. Can somebody let me know, how to overcome FSX aircraft installers, that are looking for FSX REGISTRY entries and divert the aircraft installer to P3D instead.Thank youBruno

Use the Flight1 registry repair tool found HERE. Just direct the program to your Prepar3d folder rather than FSX.

Hi Ben Cap,thank you for your help. I know the registry repair tool, but I did not think outside the box, to "use" it for that purpose. This saves me a lot of work.Thank you again.Bruno

Not a problem. Enjoy! :(

Hey guysI have problems with the Carenado Skymaster, makes the game crash instantly. The Carenado Centurion on the other hand seems to work well. I used the registry repair tool to point the Carenado installer to the Prepar3d folder instead of FSX (which I don't have).Do you know what could be the problem with this plan and why it works and not the other?

Try installing the files into a dummy folder then porting them over to P3D.

The Carenado Skymaster and 152 dont seem to work correctly in 1.3, there is VC click spot issues on switches etc.. I have both of them displaying normaly other than the click spot issues.

Ben,What do you mean exactly. Use the registry tool to point to a main folder and then let the installer create the folders beneath that, then copy to the proper p3d folders?I would only be porting over some carenado planes and the baytower rv.Bob

Officially retired

I have the same issue with the Skymaster. VC displays fine but items have point and click mouse issues (ie not working) and likely to cause a crash.. I'm going to go get some fuel (coffee) and see if I can't fix it.So far have the Centurion 210 and both RealAir Dukes working without any issue.. Now... About that coffee. :(

ASUS ROG STRIX Z390-E GAMING / i9-9900k @ 4.7 all cores w/ NOCTUA NH-D15S / 2080ti / 32GB G.Skill 3200 RIPJAWS / 1TB Evo SSD / 500GB Evo SSD /  2x 3TB HDD / CORSAIR CRYSTAL 570X / IPSG 850W 80+ PLATINUM / Dual 4k Monitors

the crash with the skymaster is caused by having the fsx.exe in the prepar3d folder. Ive got a little further with getting the VC click spots to work, if you move the camera position forward until they work, zooming wont work.It seems that almost every Carenado aircraft i have has the same issue but in 1.2 they never had the issue.C152C337C206C185FArrow IVI still have more to test but i expect them to be the same.

update and sry for the double post, besides EZdok ( brought it today ) making me trackir work it seems to help with the VC issues as well, by creating custom camera's it allows you to move the head position in a little so the click spots work.tested with the C206 so far and all seems to work ok with the new camera position :)
