FSX/P3D AIRCRAFTS: Compatibility Questions and Issues

Featured Replies

Yeah still a problem just at least the C90 is about 99% functional and doesn't crash. I'm curious if this problem existed in 1.2 or not.. I do hope Carenado build installers for Prepar3D or provide some documentation of a DIY fix for these things. I'm really trying to move entirely away from FSX as I absolutely love Prepar3D just the comability issue is a little worrysome right now as not much is being said about the root cause of it.

I would like to move over also, but until the stutter issue which came about in 1.3 is fixed it's a no go for me. Also, the shading issues. Snow is reddish. Once they work on those 2 I may move. Well of course the Carenado stuff will need to work too.

Officially retired

Prepar3d is more annoying and problematic than FSX currently.. I'm actually sort of annoyed.. They gloat about backwards compatibility but 75% of the stuff requires some sort of tweaking or just plain doesn't work right.

Caredano JetProp.. Loads fine if you select it from the aircraft list, but will cause Prepar3d to crash if you set a flight with it in it as your default flight. Again, none of the click spots work.. It's more like "Backwards Compatible... Ish"

The JetProp actually worked fine for me (in 1.2...haven't tried it in 1.3), but I didn't start it as the default flight. I imagine you already tried loading a different aircraft and switching it.

The 3 carenado planes that I ported, the click-spots are inop. But, I took a plane from P3D and ported to FSX and it worked fine. Go figure.Bob

not sure if this has been mentioned previously. but if you disable water reflections, the clickspots should work. I think it will also fix up a few of the C90 issues, i have no refelection on water and carenadeo planes work fine :)

Hi Guys.Has anyone got wilco airbus vol1 working with p3d. Otherwise I seem to have mine working, but the throttle is acting weirdly. I can only go up to like 70% thrust. The levers won't go any further.

hi nirkkone, how did you get it (almost) working? my installer won't let me point the p3d folder and keeps asking for the fsx folder (which i don't have). I really love this airbus, so hopefully you, or someone else can help to make this work :)

Try the little app called FSX to Prepar3d Migration tool on Sim Market. Works flawlessly for me. Best £10 I've spent on my sim for ages.

Hi to you too. If I recall right I got that far by just copying the wilco stuff from my fsx installation.... that seemed to do the trick for me... Don't really remember the details anymore since, it's been a while since I've dug into p3d for the previous time... Had to go back to fsx since I like to fly the wilco airbus a lot. Never actually tried the installer by itself..

There is also a freeware tool that does the same thing:

Can somebody help me with this? I copied the originial FSX aircraft from a clean install of FSX and everything works, except with the Airbus A321. I am getting this error. I checked the aircraft titles but I don't see any duplicate title, they are named:

Airbus A321 Paint2

Airbus A321 Paint4

Airbus A321 Paint5

title=Airbus A321

Coud somebody please compare with the default A321. Many thanks

Anyone can tell me if one of my favourites will work in Prepar3D ? I want to be sure, before purchasing Prepar3D. The question is, if following aircrafts work 100% with P3D:

- Aerosoft DA-20 Katana X

- Ant's LSA Tecnam Sierra

- Carenado Aircrafts

Thx to all

I would like to help you out but don't have any of those aircraft.

Joachim (Joe)

anyone else using these aircrafts able to report?

Cant the CS 707 v 1.300 be made to work in P3d, and if so, how?

Hi All,

I would like to exchange & confirm my experience with most recent P3D version and PMDG NGX using simultaneously with some scenery addons (for testing purposes).

So my stuff is like below:

- Prepar3D (all scenery sliders maxed but terrain slider set at 10m)

- FSX2Prepar3D

- PMDG NGX

- GEX

- REX Ess

- UTX

- FS Global 2010

- FSUIPC 4.84

- Saitek yoke & rudder pedals.

The installation of my FSX addons into P3D was made without any problems with FSX2Prepar3D.

Well, after loading NGX and making some configuration tasks, the P3D is instantly crashing to desktop (CTD) with messages stating P3D is on low memory... So, in fact in task manager I can see that P3D uses ca. 3 GB RAM, and finally - there is only 1 GB for VRAM memory left to reach 32bit applications limit of 4GB :(

Summarizing, I'am not able to fly P3D with my addons yet. I have to stay with FSX :(.

I would like to know your experience with P3D and NGX using with other complex addons.

Regards

Czarek

Hi all,

I'm able to leave FSX behind I think...did the migration of all my add-ons...still under test, but all seem to work properly.

I described it here:

http://forum.avsim.net/topic/349667-fsxp3d-environment-compatibility-questions-and-issues/#entry2442657

@Joachim: I also had the A321 issue, just deleted the "Commercial Airliner"-folder as it is only an AI model and moved the A321 over from FSX (maybe this will affext AI traffic, but I'm using World of AI anyway)

Why don't you try the official forum as well. They can give you support and advice. They really want to know when P3D crashes and how so they can see if it is something they need to fix.
