FSX/P3D AIRCRAFTS: Compatibility Questions and Issues

Anyone have any luck with Reality XP gauges, FLT, FLN, or others? When I try to load a plane with any of these, I crash P3D..

And someone else already said this somewhere: NGX in FSX vs P3D, performancewise in P3D around 10fps less!! Too bad!
It's slower? If complex add-ons are going to be slower in P3D then what's the point? Can anyone else confirm its actually slower.

Yeah, seems like it. Even with some scenery without NGX, it seems slower. I just tested another situation: I installed in both sims:FSGlobal2010 MeshScenerytech LandclassUTXAustria Professional XFreeware LOWS scenery addon Sat on my default airport, LOWS. FSX was around 100fps, P3D was around 66fps (paused both).Someone posted that sliders are not the same in FSX and P3D, so I made screenshots and compared them on the same paused position - they look 99% identical! Different colors... but scenery amount is the same! I also briefly tested UK2000 EGLL, which was so badly lagging that I remove it instantly... You go figure.

I have a big gain in fps (8 or more) with the NGX in P3D.

Anyone know if i can import the learjet from FSX to P3D.

Could you please post your comparisons, what situation, what addons etc... we need to know how you are achieving this boost, thanks!

Has anyone been able to use the IFLY 737? I'm having trouble with the Module and Add-On Menu Option.

Oh, it's definitely more slow in P3D. Made a flight from KLAS to KLAX yesterday to test it out. In FSX I was also using REX with real-time weather. P3D was using fair weather. Standing on the runway in P3D I was "enjoying" FPS in the high-teens low 20´s. Same situation (but even using REX textures) in FSX gave me >30 FPS. I would think it all comes down to the fact that the NGX just isn't made specifically for P3D. If the guys at PMDG would optimize it for P3D it would be insta-buy for me.

Hi Barry, No, it won't work now. Flight1 has pointed out that the Prepar3D license is specifically for non-entertainment purposes, so they will not support P3D until that changes (info from the iFly Support Forums) and may not then, guess it depends on sales. I have to admit I missed that statement in my initial scan of the EULA but it's there. I bought a 6 month license and so far am really impressed with what they have done, my performance is up about 25% or so on my 3+ year old Q6600 Core 2.

Copy the exe.xml and dll.xml to the according P3D directory, edit it, and delete all for P3D irrelevant stuff.Copy all aircraft from Simobjects, PMDG folder from FSX, PMDG gauges from Gauges folder, PMDG folder inside of Sound folder. That should get you running.
I've got everything working except the hud.My dll.xml is correct.Any idea?

Dunno really, did you activate it in the FMS options?

But do also note that NGX seems to perform (mostly) worse in my typical FSX scenarios. I'm only loading some of my saved FSX situations and sometimes getting really bad performance... like for instance, I have a saved situation with NGX and LOWS takeoff to LOWW, with addons like UTX, GEX, ATPX and freeware LOWS.I get same 20fps on the load of the flight, but then on takeoff, FSX is around 25-30 (locked 30), way smoother, and once airborne, usually around 30 pegged.P3D performs here totally sub-par - it does same 20fps on the strip, then aroun 22 on roll, and not more than 22-25 once airborne. Where FSX is easily doing 30, P3D is still showing about 22.I tried everything to my knowledge to make it same, without addons it seems to perform better than original FSX, but I'm not about to start uninstalling all my addons...

I am probably lucky on that one because until now I didn't see any fps decrease with the NGX.As you say it comes more from some scenery addons. Yes, the hud is activated in the FMS options and it still doesn't work, that's very weird ! blink.png

I.m having the same difficulty, cannot get the HUD in the 737NGX to display information. I've copied all the files over etc. Also having trouble with the Terrain map as it shows up as purple ! Apart from that everything is good. Out of ideas now, but I really wanted to fly into Corfu using the HUD.
