Trip7cap, what is Robert supposed to do? On the one hand he has you (and others) whining because there are no updates, on the other you have the likes of NyxxUK, Jari junior and others whining because there are updates. Robert said about two weeks, now maybe it's me being stupid but the 30th of September to the 12th of October is and never has been two weeks. I also gathered from Robert's post that they were having a few issues, and being a sane, sensible sort of person I would not be surprised if this date was missed, if so I'm sure that there will be an update (unless Robert doesn't want to upset NyxxUK again) So why not just read the update properly and have a little patience? The team are probably up to their eyes in it at the moment, trying to improve the product for all of us. I'm happy playing with my 738 until everything is sorted. BTW what's ENB? It's been referred to several times in previous posts, but I can't recall ever hearing of it before. Cheers,John B Hansen
So I don't mind waiting a little longer, but I have to correct you here since you're being so adamant about these details. Robert said one week, as many as two, which generally means between one and two weeks. 30 September to 12 October is not two weeks, you're right. It's 13 days, though, which is pretty close. And since Robert didn't say "It'll be two weeks from today!" (but instead said "as many as"), it could be out right now, based on those time tables. This is why it'd be better to not even have time tables, I think.

John B Hansen No, i'm not one of your so called whiners and i could care less whether an anouncement is made today or tomorrow, but just to set the record straight, Robert did say in his post, Quote - "I'll keep you posted as we move forward during the week" - Unquote. Trip7cap does have a point, PMDG do slip a little when it comes to comunications. We can't be perfect i guess. Regards,

what is Robert supposed to do?
I think what AJ was getting at was that when someone says "I'll keep you posted as we move forward during the week" he or she should indeed "keep one posted as he or she moves forward the week". If there is no intention to provide progress reports in the given timeframe the promise shouldn't be made that specifically and should be worded less committedly. Or simpler put: "don't make promises that you can't keep". wink.png Personally, I don't really mind. The NGX is working fine for me now and the SP1 will only be the icing on the cake. I'm happy for the time being.

ENB works fine with my NGX. Not sure what's the problem on your end...
i think the problem is the tweaked file fsx.cfg cuz when i use the one from http://www.venetubo.com/fsx.html he work perfectly (sometimes when i switch between full and window mode the screen turns black).but this happen before NGX with others aircraft its an fsx bug.
PMDG, how about getting more ppl on board working on this ? are we not paying enough money to get a proper service ?personally i'll be very surprised if we see anything in the next month. just keep crapping all over your customers.
At least they're doing updates, man, and making sure the updates are good first. There are other developers who never fix their bugs.

Since some people say they are using ENB with the NGX successfully I tried it again myself and just completed a 3+ hours flight with no problems and enjoyed every minute of the flight with the beautiful effect you get with ENB so maybe just maybe things got better with HF4. I'll continue using it with my fingers crossed...
you have really a good chance man.a lot of peoples suffer from this bug and i'm a victim too.i want to know if all peoples who have this bug have an ATI graphic card ??? maybe i will change mine for an 560 Ti LOL

If the updates are so good, why do I still have cockpit freezing 4 hotfixes later?

Because it's an extremely complex product that has to operate within the framework of a basically unsupported, sunset Microsoft product that's known for its less-than-optimal efficiency, along with who-knows-what other addons that any given user happens to be running. The hotfixes already issued have fixed the problems for many of us, myself included. I really think the tone of some of the posts here lately is beyond the line, and that people don't realize just what they're expecting. Rather than complaining, perhaps focus on doing your best to pin down the exact sequence of events that will cause a freeze in your own occurrence, and maybe you can help PMDG locate and squish another bug. Bugs happen in development of the software behind real commercial aircraft too, you know. (OK, this article's not the most recent, but I quote "total coding errors [for the Airbus A340] were fewer than 10 per 100 kbytes of software, down from several hundred errors in the earlier Airbus A310 development".) And that's 10 bugs per 100KB even though only 30% of that A340 software was being coded by hand (ie. really, it's 33 bugs per 100KB of hand-coded software). You can hardly expect bugs not to exist in consumer-priced software that's largely reliant on its ability to operate with an unsupported, sunset product over which PMDG has no control. What matters is whether the developer attempts to fix them, which PMDG is clearly doing, given the fact that for many of us, they have fixed them.

So as long as it works for the majority, screw the rest who it doesn't work for and god forbid we're unhappy about it.Well I'm so happy your product works correctly. I wish I could say the same about mine. I think the tone of posts like yours is just a slap in the face to those who gave a large sum of money for a product that doesn't work right. And now, when we ask for PMDG to follow through with statements such as "we'll keep you posted this week" and we hear diddly, we get bombarded from brown nosers. Go enjoy your fully working NGX.

Well, obviously something is different with your system, than most of the others. If it were the sim code, everyone would see the same errors.I've flown the four hotixes and I don't have cockpit freezing. And my puteris nothing to really write home about. I'm also using XP 32 bit..You can not rush service packs for something as complicated as this airplane. You have to make sure the fixes don't cause other problems, and it takestime for testers to try to make sure the problem is fixed, and to see if otherproblems crop up from the fixes. It takes time to do it right, and is not anything that can be rushed. The testing probably takes longer to do than the actual fixing of theissues. If they rush this through and release a buggy SP, then they are back tosquare one again.. And that's no way to live in this business.I imagine they want it all fixed up just as bad as you do.I don't see a need for a constant update myself. It's obvious they areworking on it. When it's properly done, they will release it. That's theonly notice I really need to see. Where I can download it... :/ I've had no problems flying any of the hotfix versions. If my puterwill run it, yours should too.. But.. like I say, there is something aboutyour system that is not playing well with the NGX.It may or may not be a NGX issue. But in most cases of an actual bug, everyone will see the same problem. In your case, if it's not a local system issue, how can you explain whymany others are having no problems?Hotfix 3 and 4 both have felt quite stable on my box. As long as I don'toverload the scenery and run out of usable memory, which I know notto do, I could probably run the airplane for days at a time withoutreloading it. I can see how one might get frustrated, but the reasonfor the problem is just as likely to be on your end, as it is theirs, being as many don't see it.And being the problem is sporadic for only some users, it takes timeto find and fix the real issue as often it's hard to duplicate on a boxthat does not have the "issue".That's one reason why I say the testing is probably taking longer thanthe actual fixing.. :/

Mark Keith

I believe there is so much detail in this aircraft that it is almost too good to be a FSX add on. So i think that it is going to take a lot work to get this thing working in FSX. I think the announcement by Ryan a week or so ago is one way of doing that by allowing the user (after SP1) to back off on some of the features (or quality of) to ease the burden on some less up to date rigs.

Well, that's why they're still doing hotfixes, since the previous ones didn't fix it for everyone.
