Check out a program called 'shade' It's payware, but not too expensive & is supposed to do anything enb does & then some, according to what I've read online. I have no personal experience with it.
IMHO, and I have got Shade, it's a load of noise about nothing.

It doesn't do what the enb mod does. The ENB mod changes the brightness/contrast of everything dynamically, depending on the brightness of the object that you look at, effectively adding high dynamic range lighting. Shade, however, changes the light/shade values to a fixed setting which can result in too dark shadows so that you can barely see the cockpit when the light is coming from ahead. That's exactly the kind of behavior that the ENB mod tries to avoid. Plus the ENB mod can add a nice bloom effect which Shade can't. In short: they are completely different.

I agree. I've already stopped using it.

+1If someone could come up with a new ENB-similar addon that doesn't cause problems they could make $...at least I would be happy to spend some since I really miss the great effect ENB gives you!

My bad then. I'd read where a few users were enjoying it as an enb replacement & hadn't noticed anything negative being said

I wonder at what point you will learn not to give dates that never happen and just give updates on progress? would be much better that way from a customers pov. Just a thought .
fully agree.

I enjoy 'Shade', so there are varying opinions on this. It's also under continuous refinement by the developer, with new effects coming in the future.

As for cockpit being too dark, it depends what preset you use. Also, you can tweak the presets as well. It is a great utillity, and has great potential. The developer is on the ball, with good support. As I use FEX, I found the shade works better with the clouds, as REX, the clouds look to dark. With FEX, you get the right balance. Just my opinoin, that's all.

@ PMDG or AVSIM staff, I (and supposedly many others) would highly appreciate if this thread could finally be locked. 181 replies to RSR's announcement and only a few are relevant and on-topic. Now we even have a discussion going on about some other add-ons. This is getting a real pain in the butt as one tends to look up here for possible follow-up info by PMDG, only to find posts that contain no information or even no connection to the topic.

If there is any further announcments, a new thread is started. Highly unlikley that a post will be made in the middle of all this. Just ignore this thread, you won;t miss anything.
