October 29, 201114 yr Commercial Member They look quite poor to be honest, barring the first shot in the second set.X-plane 10 has shown much better things than are demonstrated in those screenshots.Could you be more specific? Just saying "it looks quite poor" (strong choice of words) doesn't tell people that much. What about it looks "poor"?Could you also show us what screenshots they HAVE shown that look better?

It'll be posted in the X-plane general discussions in 15 minutes or so (although may take a bit longer!)
October 29, 201114 yr Howard...It is better than DEFAULT FSX or FS9... right out of the box. "It's ALL about Flying" i7-9700k @5ghz | 32gb Gskill Ripjaw 5 DDR4 3000 | Nvidia RTX 4080 | W10 Pro | Samsung 32" 4K TV | Virpil Throttle & Pedals | Winwing Stick

The tarmac has OIL STAINS. The jetways have dirt in the ridges. This is default, out of the box.Compare THAT to default FSX screenshots. THEN we can have a discussion.

THEN we can have a discussion.It can be volumetric all it likes, it still looks nothing like a cloud. FSX is no better in this respect of course.As for comparisons to default FSX - I didn't read it as that at all. If you're comparing it to default then of course it's better, but FSX is ancient.You can't argue that this isn't brilliant;
October 29, 201114 yr Not even close. How on earth you can say that this is anywhere near the level of 'the best of FSX' is beyond me;You were talking about the KSEA shot... not the landscape images.Why waste your time here, if you don't like what you see, stick with the "but FSX is ancient" sim. I don't read that to mean 'the best of KSEA default in FSX.'I don't want to stick with FSX - I want to move on to X-plane and/or Flight.
October 30, 201114 yr Xplane-10's guys, show us one or two of your best shot with all the eye candy on if possible, just one or two so we can see what Aerosoft was talking about when they said that Xplane-10 was "gonna" blow FSX out of the water......For the record, I invested a lot of money in FSX and I will buy Xplane-10, I'm also a big fan of Flight, (don't "wanna" be tagged as a ######... )

I know I'm not the only one who has questioned some of the statements and 'facts' that certain people have posted here and there.I'd like to see a some more night flying;If it looks like that I'll be very happy.
October 30, 201114 yr RIP FSX !!I believe that Xplane10 will finally "catch up" to FSX. As a result, I will give them both flight time.Xplane-10's guys, show us one or two of your best shot with all the eye candy on if possible, just one or two so we can see what Aerosoft was talking about when they said that Xplane-10 was "gonna" blow FSX out of the water......For the record, I invested a lot of money in FSX and I will buy Xplane-10, I'm also a big fan of Flight, (don't "wanna" be tagged as a ######... )You are a fan of something that doesnt exist? At least wait for Flight to release to become a fan .. adds credibility.

October 30, 201114 yr RIP FSX !!Not yet. I believe that XP10 & FSX with it's vast addon support will be co-existing for awhile. It's the addons that keep making it interesting. There is no doubt in my mind, that X-Plane 10 will be getting a lot more third party support, than prior versions.I've seen several threads comparing X-Plane 10 to default FSX. Of course, the default FSX is as old as X-Plane 8, if I remember correctly. I know I did numerous comparison shots of the Southwest USA terrain, using FSX & X-Plane 9. It was kind of a draw, since one sim or the other, had the advantage depending on location. For instance X-Plane would win with topography, but FSX had better bridges and dams in place.As to scenery, I still get a kick from this FSX addon video. It shows what FSX is still capable of. It's also very professional in appearance. This is why I don't see FSX being RIP to soon. This is what X-Plane 10 needs, to show itself off. Do watch, past the first minute, to get into the future, so to speak. L.Adamson
October 30, 201114 yr Kewl vid ! Orbx has done an amazing job with thier airport scenery but once you fly out of the aria all hell breaks loose, even with thier terrain regions. I hate how the roads, rivers, building run into each other and on top of each other... The tiles don't blend in very well with the surrounding mountains, rivers and forests. The clouds in FSX look great with REX but when you fly into them they turn into a paper vortexs, lol... XPLANE-10 changes all that ! Its built from the ground up in 3d thats completely plausible !
