PMDG's secret projects - What could these be...?

Featured Replies

Hi,I think quite some people have read already on the PMDG's site, that apart from the Dash-8 and 777, there are two other projects in development, which we haven't been told about. So what do you guys think it could be? Could it be a new aircraft like an Airbus? Or maybe something entirely different, like their own weather program, ATC addon, or scenery addon? Or maybe even their own Flight Simulator game?!

Who knows? Truth is we wont know untill they want us to, i dont know whats more frustrating....Knowing and waiting or not knowing and waiting! I do know whatever it will be it will be superb!

Would love it to be an Airbus of some sort, but doubtful since most of the aircraft seem to be on the other side of the pond (US).Plus AFAIK FSX is more 'optimised' for Boeing than Airbus which is why there is a lot more development needed to get a 'As real as it gets' Airbus.

I have a guaranteed algorithm for finding out anyone's secret project(s). Using variables like the time of year, state of the economy, the intended market, the answer to the universe, and a roll of a weighted six-sided die, I can predict both the purpose of the project and the cost.It will be used for some purpose that no one outside of PMDG should know about yet.It will cost more tomorrow than it does today.Go ahead, try it on your friends or coworkers. Are they working on something secret? See how amazingly accurate it is!

That's right too! I forgot about that one. Aren't the REX guys doing that with the quietware SimAir? Haven't heard much about it lately. I have noticed a lot of the big add on companies have been meshing together lately. I can't help but wonder if the "major players" are involved with Microsoft Flight.

Lol I knew that damned wood pidgeon would make an appearance somewhere...I just knew it.*edit* actually I've raised this in the past but yeah, I'm sure the PMDG crew know....RSR certainly does (he's the boss, ain't he?). This is where the wish lists come out....and here's mine:1. Airbus A3XX series, especially the A320. I love that IAE buzzing sound that you get from the engines when you're flying in 'em; and2. ATR series (42/72) - yes I know theres a flight 1 version out...thats been upgraded from FS9 but it ain't pretty.[insert wish list here]

Whatever the secret projects may be, I hope it's not yet another big-a$$ long-hauler aircraft. An A319/320 in NGX quality would be great, but I doubt they're going to touch this with flightsimlabs already developing and announcing an A320 for FSX.However, an in-depth simulation of a contemporary business jet would rock. There are a few developers who did business jets for FSX but none of those has a quality that comes close to PMDG's standards. They either lack in simulation depth or virtual cockpit graphics, or both.
