November 2, 201114 yr Didn't know that they even alter the CI for the different phases of flight. Most airlines dont .... except for if they are behind schedule. Then its common to increase the CI by a bunch. Its also possible that some airlines reduce the CI when they are a bunch ahead of the schedule, to avoid having to rent an extra stand at the airport Johan Pettersen
November 3, 201114 yr hey thanks all, what does it mean route legth?Route length is the distance you will fly...long routes allow higher flight altitude. November 3, 201114 yr If the FMC is giving you a suggested CRZ ALT. of 15,700 ft, you can't be going too far from your destination. Unless you are using Meters for units of measure! 15,700mtrs would be around 34,000ft~ "To most the sky is the limit but to me it's home" Rick Harms (CYVR) i7 [email protected] (for now) asus p6t v2, 6gb ocz 1600 CL7 ram. November 3, 201114 yr 15,700mtrs would be around 34,000ft~NO WAY!!! That'd be 51,500 feet! The 737 can't ever reach that altitude. 34,000ft is around 10,350 meters. Matheus Mafra
November 3, 201114 yr 3.3 is the magic number for meters to feet. It isn't exact, but will get you within about 1-2% Kenneth Weir My Saitek yoke mod i7 2600k @ 4.7 8GB Gskill CAS7 2x GTX580 SLI Surround + GT520 Accessory Win7x64
November 3, 201114 yr 3,3 is precise enough for normal calculations of "aviation" numbers, like altitude or runway lengh, but if want more precision for really high numbers, use 3,28. Matheus Mafra
November 3, 201114 yr 3.3 is my mental limit. Any more decimal places and I'm going for my phone or a notepad. Kenneth Weir My Saitek yoke mod i7 2600k @ 4.7 8GB Gskill CAS7 2x GTX580 SLI Surround + GT520 Accessory Win7x64

November 3, 201114 yr 3.3 is my mental limit. Any more decimal places and I'm going for my phone or a notepad.Same here. I'm sure that by tomorrow, I'll not remeber the 3,28 as well Oh jeez! I just made myself look like an &@($* eh? I was thinking pounds to tons! @2.2!I now have a PHD in dumbassery! Sorry guys! Long day. LolThat happens to us once in a while. But you have tought me the how convert pounds to kilograms! I never remembered the 2.2 factor, but after today, I'll surely remember this number. Thanks a lot! Matheus Mafra

Man, this day needs to end soon before do something else stupid! Lol Pounds X 2.204 = KG! Youre more than welcome Barfra! Cheers. November 3, 201114 yr hey is there any place that i can download a accurate checklist for the pmdg ngx? i am currently using checklist (not for real world aviation) tnxThe "Normal Checklist" found in the QRH is used by real world airlines. November 3, 201114 yr Commercial Member CI varies by flight at a lot of airlines - the dispatchers have programs that calculate it on the basis of a bunch of factors like distance, cruise alt, winds, weight etc... 20-40 range is common for NGs though. November 3, 201114 yr Thanks Ryan. I tend to use 30 as my default. Is the CI actually modeled on the NGX? Forgive my ignorance, I have just not paid much attention to CI as no one has been able to simulate this factor as far as I know. November 3, 201114 yr I have numbers 10-40 in a hat... I pull one out and see what it is... that will be the CI for the flight! No, seriously, I use CI to tweak my various speeds... if I know I have a little less time in the evening, I will use a higher CI to get me there a little faster... those 5 minutes in difference mean a lot when it is gone 23:00 and you have an early start the next day Andrew Andrew Entwistle
