November 17, 201114 yr Moderator Funny how a few years ago on the Aerosoft forum when people complained about the lead in lights, Aerosoft said numerous times that "it can't be done." While all along they should have just said "we dont know how to do it." Like many, I knew it could be done since I had seen other devs pull off things that some devs would claim impossible.Anyway, thanks for the heads up. Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
November 17, 201114 yr +1 Jim, but you will never get Aerosoft to admit that they are a jack of all trades but a master of none. Cheers, Andy.
November 17, 201114 yr Very good news. Thanks for the HU. A great place to fly and train things. And once again a nice policy to offer free updates for existing customers.

While all along they should have just said "we dont know how to do it." Like many, I knew it could be done since I had seen other devs pull off things that some devs would claim impossible.Anyway, thanks for the heads up.I took an active part in that "complaint" post, as jjstruyf : http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php/topic/21159-madeira-x-visual-aids-missing/page__hl__madeira__fromsearch__1I could not accept Aerosoft's "it can't be done" - I could have accepted "it can be done but at a higher cost" (I was 24 yrs old when Kennedy announced in 1962 that America would put a man on the moon before the end of the decade. During all my professional life I have been inspired by his determination and could never accept a "it can't be done" answer). Also what turned me off is that the product page was misleading when it said "Approaching runway 05 you follow a set of 'lead-in' landing lights over a curved path", which made me believe that the lead-in lights were flashing as in real life. Since then I have uninstalled Madeira X. This update will give me a chance to re-install the scenery and have a second look at it.Jean-Jacques Jean-Jacques Struyf between EBBR and EBCI
November 17, 201114 yr There you are. Flashing in sequence and guiding at night, dusk and dawn. Day guidance isn't there though.I have tweaked my light values in the fsx.cfg but I doubt that this has much influence here. The flashing in the low light conditions is clearly visible and affects all lights, so not only the first one.DayDawnDuskNightAutogen was 'dense'.
November 17, 201114 yr Author Just read that some have to download the full version for correct texture placement. Cannot check at this stage CoolIP, but if you get a chance. I will try it tomorrow. November 17, 201114 yr Oops, good point. I forgot to add that those pictures came from a fresh 1.20 installation, so no patching done. I've uninstalled 1.10 and then installed 1.20.
November 17, 201114 yr Author Ahh ok, I won't need to do that then, thanks. November 17, 201114 yr I must admit, I didn't even look for a patch. I always head to fresh installers first, sort of a habit and easy to do at Aerosoft. The full 1.20 one comes in at 1.3 gigabytes, so maybe 'a bunch' when someone is download limited. The pictures show the impression of the guidance a bit weaker than the actual sim. The motion of the lights is very noticeable and should help a lot. One could compare them to the LOWI lights over the city. But the daylight operation sadly isn't there, though this did not prevent my landings so far.
November 17, 201114 yr I have just downloaded the full Madeira X package again, plus the 1.20 update. I will install it over the weekend, and check out these "lead in" lights. Does anyone know if anything else has been updated and/or improved? November 17, 201114 yr Aeslite is new too. So you have free ground traffic. But I didn't see a detailed changelog so far.
November 17, 201114 yr I finally managed to get my hands on the update. As ever, it gets harder and harder for registered users, having to jump through hoops to get this stuff. Windows 10 (x64) - X-Plane 11 - M/B: Asus ROG Maximus IX Hero - CPU: i7 7700k (@5.0GHz) - RAM: 32Gb Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 @ 3200MHz - Video: GTX1080ti - Cooling: Custom water loop (EK 140 Revo D5 pump/res combo, EK EVO CPU block, EK XE360 Rad)

Does anyone know if anything else has been updated and/or improved? Not sure much else needs improving, does it? It's always been one of my favourite sceneries. And this update comes at a good time for me as I'm currently on my 737NGX Atlantic island-hopping adventure, and due to call in at Funchal in the next day or so. Better make it a dusk approach..Ian
November 17, 201114 yr As ever, it gets harder and harder for registered users, having to jump through hoops to get this stuff. Seriously, I would add the Aerosoft system to be one of the easier ones. There also isn't any extra cost involved. But I think you mean that 'register your product' thingy to get the system to know that you have access, right?I always cheat and just log in to the shop account, looking for the previous orders and find a fresh installer. They could render it being more connected, so no separate accounts for shop and update database of course. Also, when you've bought a thing, it should just be there in the update selection. So, you are right in the end. Still, I'm very happy that they offer free upgrades which add some items.
