November 29, 201114 yr I saw on a compatibility website that FSX Deluxe is incompatible with 64 bit Windows 7. Is that a fact, and if so, has a fix been found to correct that? Thanks.Dewey
November 29, 201114 yr I'm not sure what FSX Deluxe is but FSX Gold (FSX + Accel) works just fine running under Windows7 64-bit. I use it every day.Frank
November 29, 201114 yr Dewey,I can Echo Frank's comment. I use FSX Gold Edition with Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit, and it works just fine. November 29, 201114 yr FSX in all its incarnations seems to work fine with W7-64. I've been running it that way for a long time now with no problems.
November 29, 201114 yr Dewey,I can Echo Frank's comment. I use FSX Gold Edition with Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit, and it works just fine. There is no FSX Gold edition!FSX Gold is just FSX Deluxe plus FSX Acceleration with both DVDs in the same plastic case. When installing, be sure to start/fly/exit FSX before instaling Acceleration.Cheers,- jahman.
November 29, 201114 yr The only thing i noted was that FSX didn't seem to play too well with the W7 64 bit Nvidia videodrivers.IAN Ryzen 5800X3D, Nvidia RTX5080 - 32 Gig DDR4 RAM, 1TB & 2 TB NVME drives - Windows 11 64 bit MSFS 2024 Premium Deluxe Edition Resolution 2560 x 1440 (32 inch curved monitor)
November 30, 201114 yr As I said before, there is no FSX Gold edition, onlt FSX Deluxe + FSX Acceleration packaged together.Cheers,- jahman.
November 30, 201114 yr FSX Gold is just FSX Deluxe plus FSX Acceleration with both DVDs in the same plastic case.Don't be so pedantic. You know exactly what we mean. December 1, 201114 yr Don't be so pedantic. You know exactly what we mean. No, I don't, so please explain.
December 1, 201114 yr No, I don't, so please explain.HelloYou are both in a way correct, but currently the only way to buy FSX + Acceleration in the same box is to buy FSX GOLDTherefore FSX GOLD does exist and is available directly from these folk who are pretty clued up on FSX versionshttp://emea.microsoftstore.com/UK/en-GB/Microsoft/Flight-Simulator-X-Gold-Edition.To deny that it does not exist is a bit silly really, and makes you look like you enjoy creating arguments in the forums for your own amusement.
December 1, 201114 yr You should know better than call a packaging/merchandising decision a "software version".There are four versions of FSX (FSX, SP1, SP2, Acceleration) and "Gold" is just not one of them.Cheers,- jahman.
December 1, 201114 yr Jahman you're talking about definitive versions of the software. That's great. Most people don't have a clue about this stuff and don't care. Of course the Gold Edition is a version of FSX. It's the top-of-the-range edition! Yes it's the same as FSX+Acceleration packaged as one product. Everyone knows exactly what he's talking about because he said he has the Gold Edition. To the technical people who are interested in what goes on beneath the packaging, like you, it's pretty obvious to deduce that he has FSX+Acceleration, so why make an issue out of nothing. As for FSX on Windows 7 64 bit, it runs miles better on 64 bit Windows on my machine than 32 bit. Very happy with 64, won't ever go back! (This applies to all versions of FSX)
