December 4, 201114 yr I don't know what video's you've been looking at, but I did see stutters and I do see very low res textures on the ground. I also see it's really an RC-sim so you need to connect a RC-controller to your pc... and the basic version costs 40 euro but there also is a version that costs 250 dollars or so...? It's a bit er.. vague all in all. And this seems to be version 5...? You also have aeroFS and aero%...? They've had other versions before? How old is this program anyway? It's not completely new...? I can't figure it out AT ALL, I have to say....EDITO, wait, I think I've got it. Apparently the company Ikarus has been releasing stuff for RC flyers for ages but now they've come up with something new and that is aeroflyFS and it only costs 39,95 euro. So forget about all those other versions (aerofly5 and easyfly and whatever). Afaik it's NOT available yet in the US and UK shop: only when you click on Shop and then go to the German or the International shop, you will see aeroflyFS. Oddly enough the International shop delivers worldwide...? And when you click on the US or UK flag, you still only read German... Very confusing shop this is...
December 4, 201114 yr i think you are confused, those are there RC simulators unless I am missing something and pulling up a cached version of that page...I believe you are correct! R/C it is!
December 4, 201114 yr Wow, this was a nice find. My head is saturated with trying to keep up with all the posts on XP10 vs Flight and FSX. I will definitely check this out later. Keith Guillory
December 4, 201114 yr Guys,It isn't that tough. To summarize:Ikarus= PublishersIkarus= long time RC Simulator producer (currently only things available in US store)Ikarus is now publishing new FLIGHT simulator based in Switzerland that is only available for sale in the German store in German right now.I have an email into Ikarus to find out about availability in teh States and will report back when I get a response.Tada! Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
December 4, 201114 yr I believe you are correct! R/C it is!No, it's not RC: aerofly5 is RC and so are their other products. But aeroflyFS is a flight sim. However, apart from what I've mentioned above (very low ground res and awful 'autogen') I see...- no AI, no traffic?- no ATC?- no real time weather?- no rain?- no time of day (no night, dawn, dusk)?- no seasons?- no airliners?Maybe I am missing some possibilities but er... I wouldn't uninstall FSX just yet... I think this is a nice game for people who want to fly around a little and that's it, but it's not a simmers sim as far as I can tell. And btw don't forget that Switserland is a very tiny country... I think it's about 25% the size of Orbx PNW... If you take that jet they offer, you will have overflown the entire scenery in a few minutes...?
December 4, 201114 yr Author It is a full-simulator and not for RC training, I guess they will have soon a english site up.I wonder if its also possible to fly at night? The flags are really outstanding :-)McDan out
December 4, 201114 yr Looks like a Take on Helicopters for SWITZERLAND with planes instead of choppers... lots of unanswered questions Jeroen, no reason to rain down nothing but doom and gloom... Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
December 4, 201114 yr lots of unanswered questions Jeroen, no reason to rain down nothing but doom and gloom...LOL Well, sorry about that but I had a look at the video's and at the settings screens you can see in some of them and ALL the things I mentioned are missing in the video's as well as on the site, so... I really think this is a very simple 'sim'. I actually wanted to order it right away, but after checking it all out a bit more, I decided to skip this game. I already decided not to get it after having a GOOD look at the scenery at low altitude, but after noticing a lot more was missing, well... If they had seasons, AI, ATC, time of day, real world weather, etc. etc. they surely would have said so, don't you think? Those aren't the kind of things you forget to mention. Sorry to burst anyones bubble (my bubble was huge already!), but it's better to burst the bubble before a lot of people order it then after.
December 4, 201114 yr Wow-that looks spectacular. Love the animated flags that change with the wind, the motion of the 172 on the ground and the cockpit. It appears this is available now for purchase-but is this just a RC sim?!Is it a RC sim? I have the impression it's a sim like FS9 FSX XPlane but limited to Switzerland
December 4, 201114 yr Looks like the present sim develovers need to stop screwing around, and step up their game. Jim Driscoll, MSI Raider GE76 12UHS-607 17.3" Gaming Laptop Computer - Blue Intel Core i9 12th Gen 12900HK 1.8GHz Processor; NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti 16GB GDDR6; 64GB DDR5-4800 RAM; Dual M2 2TB Solid State Drives.Driving a Sony KD-50X75, and KDL-48R470B @ 4k 3724x2094,MSFS 2020, 30 FPS on Ultra Settings. Jorg/Asobo: “Weather is a core part of our simulator, and we will strive to make it as accurate as possible.”Also Jorg/Asobo: “We are going to limit the weather API to rain intensity only.”
December 4, 201114 yr Is it a RC sim? I have the impression it's a sim like FS9 FSX XPlane but limited to SwitzerlandThat question has already been answered a few times in this topic alone... It's not an RC sim, it's an FSX like game, but as far as I can see a lot more limited in scope in every aspect: limited to a small region and limited in possibilities. May be very nice for a quick flight but not for realistic simming. At least, that's my take on it right now: it would be VERY nice if I was proven wrong though... Would be great to have a brand new next gen sim for 40 euro's!!! But the scenery can't compete with for instance Orbx PNW imho: it looks too low res and the 'autogen' looks bad. I love the shadows and reflections, though! (EDIT Pity there aren't reflections in the water...?) It might be nice to have just for the fun of it... When you are high up in the air, things seem to look quite nice... LOL I can't decide on what to think of this one...I already searched for a review but the game is too new yet.EDITI took some pictures of the HD video's: still very low res compared to what you would use in the game of course, but you can nevertheless see there isn't much detail in the ground textures. The ground looks very FS9 to me...Look at the low hill at the right: even from this distance it looks very low res:
December 4, 201114 yr Well, I don't know what to think either...But in any case the girl is a lot prettier and a whole lot less irritating than Heidi!Kind regards,
December 5, 201114 yr Agreed -and it still looks pretty great to me. Looks like we may reverting to the '90s where there are multiple sims that each examine a certain aspect of flight-if so I am very happy. Hopefully there will be soon an apparent English link to purchase! Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!
December 5, 201114 yr Looks like we may reverting to the '90sAgreed: with those low res graphics.... Just kidding!!! The more sims there are, the better, of course! I will wait for the first reviews but I might still get it for some simple flights: at a certain alt it does look okay! I wonder if it is ALL Photoreal though...? Can't imagine that because then it wouldn't fit on two dual layer dvd's...
