December 8, 201114 yr Here are a couple pics of S88 in XPX and FSX with add-ons. FSX sliders to the max. XPX sliders are a mix of low, medium and high. The screenshots were mixed up automatically by the AVSIM tool. The FSX screenshots have the PC taskbar on the bottom of the pic... December 8, 201114 yr Very nice! Here's a couple of Diamond Point 2wa1 taken by my bud Chip, where I used the quickie free airport editor ('Overlay Editor') and OpensceneryX to add some buildings to the field - took me 30 mins. Simmo W, Melbourne, Ozhttp://www.youtube.com/user/id5556
December 8, 201114 yr Commercial Member Stider,The second set of pics are exceptional. I am also very encouraged to know that this is XPX's starting point. Cannot wait to see where it will go from here with improvements over the upcoming releases, as well as third party applications. REX AccuSeason Developer REX Simulations

Like wise !It's amazing how many people been complaining and having temper tantrums on here. It looks pretty believable on my machine !!! Its not perfect but it's 3/4 there ! The only thing missing is a better city scape, seasons and a more robust ATC.And another thing, you really need a high end computer to take adavantage of the amazing visuals when you crank up the sliders !! If anybody is wondering what ADD-ON planes I was using, it was by Carenado !I will never fly FSX again ! We will see what Flight has to offer.... December 8, 201114 yr Can anyone comment on the frames of XP10? How are they compared to FSX? Greetings from the 737 flightdeck!
December 8, 201114 yr Can anyone comment on the frames of XP10? How are they compared to FSX?This seems to be pretty varied across the board. Certain things in XP10 are based on your CPU, some on GPU (single only - multiples doesn't seem to do much for XP10 - it is NOT coded for SLI/Crossfire). Mileage definately varies from setup to setup. The one thing I CAN definately say is that your settings in the demo and the same settings in the actual full product are identical (same weather, time of day, season, AI also change FPS drastically).Try the demo and see for yourself what your performance is like. If you like it, get the full thing. They give you 15 mins to play around with the sim until the control axes stop functioning, which, when in a menu, doesn't count (also if the sim is paused - I take off, get to a place where I can see water, city, airport and clouds, then pause - FPS shouldn't jump paused or unpaused - then use FRAPS or built-in diagnostic window for figuring baseline FPS with settings). So change a setting, see how it looks, check FPS stable. Once the FPS is around a number you can accept, un-pause and try it out in a moving environment up to 15 minutes at a time. Aaron

December 8, 201114 yr Can anyone comment on the frames of XP10? How are they compared to FSX? As long as you don't use special effects or HDR AA it's fine, I get about 30-40 fps in the King air VC at KSEA, with medium-high settings. Things that really hurt fps: cloud densities, volumetric fog, HDR. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
December 8, 201114 yr Hey Bert-true xplane's weakness right now is major urban areas-however you have to crank up your objects to a higher level...Best,GeofOK, higher level, called "TONS" in XPX - took a long time to load, occasional pauses in flight, and stillnot that impressive... I'll leave it installed for now, but this is not enough to tempt me to move away from FSX/PNW..Plausible world?? Just look at the roads, power line etc Bert
December 8, 201114 yr OK, higher level, called "TONS" in XPX - took a long time to load, occasional pauses in flight, and stillnot that impressive... I'll leave it installed for now, but this is not enough to tempt me to move away from FSX/PNW..Plausible world?? Just look at the roads, power line etcBert-for exactly the reasons your photos show there are 3 sliders which for me are not negotiable on xplane. Number of objects needs to be "totally insane",number of roads "totally insane" and texture resolution "extreme res". Why? because otherwise the scenery looks empty as your shots show! With these 3 settings maxed autogen in xplane is about the same as fsx running full right-and roads are complete-which is also how I run fsx.All else is negotiable-I leave hdr completely off, and clouds really need to be tweeked-they can kill performance but you can get them to a setting where they look great and give you what you need. As my above shot shows-I get about 25 fps over heavy urban areas and completely smooth flight-in the boonies it is more like 40-45, and this is on my 2 year old i7 920 2.67 ghz. Keep playing with those sliders!Best,Geof Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!
