January 4, 201214 yr Your status has been updated to Commercial Member. If you do work for a payware FS developer and get paid for your services then it is a requirement on the AVSIM forums for your account to be updated to commercial member status. Thanks !!I did not know.FinnJ System: i7-10700K, 32GB RAM, RTX4070 12GB, 1 x 1TB SSD, 2 x 2TB SSD, 1x 2TB HDD, Win10 64bit Home, Meta Quest 3
January 4, 201214 yr You are correct that I'm a developer for Aerosoft, but thats does not mean that I can´t comment !!Finn, I have to apologize. I did not mean to express that devs shouldn't comment. So I'm sorry if it could be read that way. I was aiming for the point that they should be marked as devs, therefore enabling a clear view on possible motivations and backgrounds.Since your tag is updated now any since you've also showed an open and friendly behaviour on that process, I actually have to applaud to you as you've showed how it's done. Now, on the touchy 'Flight vs. XP' case running in all flight sim forums, we may agree that the Aerosoft viewpoint is biased towards XP and comes with a economical background. That's the point where I, personally, would hold back with comments on certain threads if I was a dev over there. It looks motivated where it might not have been intended to do so.However, facts and knowledge are always appreciated and I think that your work shows that you have quite some of those skills.Just saw this:http://flyawaysimula...rosoft-studios/ Nice read! thanks for the link. January 4, 201214 yr I now got Your point and hope others see my inputs in the right context, though I´m honestly not biased towards X-Plane ;)Even if you would be, not a problem.I think Aerosoft took the right and also brave step on supporting X-Plane.Same as for some other folks, I like FSX, I did not see any improvement with prepar3d so far and I'm looking for the next thing on a mid- or long-term basis. With MS rolling up the marketing of 'Flight' now, I expect some advertising and teasing to arrive, but I'm not tempted by design, not at all. I could think of some devs supporting 'Flight' because the MS bandwagon develops a huge inertia and therefore market success by design, but I could also image some others not being too happy about seeing future addons getting sold in the marketplace way, dictated by MS.However, the good addons made my days in FSX and quite some of them e. g. came from Aerosoft. So I think we've just entered the regime where not only the best player wins, but also the one with the best supporters. I can't recall seeing a fight on that level staying fair for long, so my sympathy is with XP, while I'm excited to see the MS weapons, so to speak.
January 4, 201214 yr *Sigh*...looks like P3D will be the way to go in the future....I'll probably still check out Flight, if for nothing else but the novelty, but with the limitations stated, FSX will remain the sim of choice fo a while, which is fine. Too bad, though..... Jim BlakeCaptain, SWA Virtual AirlinesReal World C172 Pilot, AOPA #06034701
January 4, 201214 yr Finn Jacobsen(Flightsim hobbyist and developer for Aerosoft in my sparetime)Don't worry Finn just say and state your point of view of things despited what others think or say ;-)Ps.: We should have more user colors here, since not every visitor is unbiased here and has contributed to a product lol André
January 4, 201214 yr Hi,Guess we could start with a beta tester color. :( Don't worry Finn just say and state your point of view of things despited what others think or say ;-)Ps.: We should have more user colors here, since not every visitor is unbiased here and has contributed to a product lol Former Beta Tester - (for a few companies) - As well as provide Regional Voice Set Recordings Two: AMD-9950X | One: AMD-7950X3D | Three: Asus TUF 4090s | Three: 64GB DDR5 RAM 6000mhz | Three: Cosair 1300 P/S | Three: 990Pro 2TB NVME One: Eugenius ECS2512 - 2.5 GHz Switch | Three: Ice Giant Elite CPU Coolers | Three: 75" 4K UHDTVs | One: Boeing 737NG Flight Deck
January 4, 201214 yr Hi,Guess we could start with a beta tester color. :(Lol :( Mike I hate those color tags :( but the point is a lot of visitors here aren't unbiased... André
January 4, 201214 yr Hi Andre,I hear ya, everyone has an opinion and I'm sure many of these opinionated individuals are biased in some way, even if a monetary interest in a product is not the reason . Guess everyone should have a color. :( Edited January 4, 201214 yr by Mike_CFII_MEL Former Beta Tester - (for a few companies) - As well as provide Regional Voice Set Recordings Two: AMD-9950X | One: AMD-7950X3D | Three: Asus TUF 4090s | Three: 64GB DDR5 RAM 6000mhz | Three: Cosair 1300 P/S | Three: 990Pro 2TB NVME One: Eugenius ECS2512 - 2.5 GHz Switch | Three: Ice Giant Elite CPU Coolers | Three: 75" 4K UHDTVs | One: Boeing 737NG Flight Deck
January 4, 201214 yr Lol...There where a thread in the PMDG 737 NGX forum for a couple of month ago..http://forum.avsim.n...ost__p__2164753I was warning about the hype around MS Flight, but some simply want MS Flight to become the successor of FSX so much that they can´t see the forrest for trees.Maybe they now start to understand why "MS Flight Simulator" has become "MS Flight".Sorry for this post, but I could not resist...There seems to be no future in MS Flight for 3rd party addons.FinnJHave you ever thought of doing palm reading :Shocked:How did you know that?Bob Officially retired
January 4, 201214 yr How do you interpret the announcement about Flight, that FSX is Dead in the water? As long as dvelopers continue to develop for it, and I see no sign of that happening anytime soon, FSX will be alive and well. The high cost of Prepar3D is going to keep many simmers away, no matter how much better it is. We are still in a recession, so it's less likely your going to see that many addons for it that won't/can't be ported back to FSX. It is likely you'll see FSX addons that will be ported to Prepar3D, since it does have FSX at it's base. As more and more people move on to faster systems, that run FSX better, I think we are however going to see a steeper decline for FS2004 addons and use.Sorry to be naive, but what is Prepar3D? Ben B. January 4, 201214 yr Have you ever thought of doing palm reading :Shocked:How did you know that?BobWell I rather stop posting more in this thread...All what I have told has been public available in various forums and sites at various times ever since MS Flight was announced.Better wait and see what it becomes - I hope too to be positive surpriced.FinnJ System: i7-10700K, 32GB RAM, RTX4070 12GB, 1 x 1TB SSD, 2 x 2TB SSD, 1x 2TB HDD, Win10 64bit Home, Meta Quest 3
January 4, 201214 yr Hi,Prepar3D is basically FSX on steroids. There are two options, a $500.00 one time fee to own or a $10.00 month subscription, I've enclosed a link to L/M and P3D. I just hope L/M sees this tremendous opportunity that's before them (now that MS Flight has dropped the ball) and offers the serious home sim pilot a better one time fee for P3D.http://www.prepar3d.com/ Sorry to be naive, but what is Prepar3D?
