I agree Drew. It is a xBox game for PC - not a simulation.

Imagine that CH Yoke works just fine for elevator, aileron, CH pedals for rudder, Throttle lever works. Nothing else. Not even configurable...

SHAME SHAME SHAME.Without all the addons flight sim is CRAPOLA. Flight sim is dull, boring, and not worth it.The world is way too big for Microsoft only. The planes are way too complex for Microsoft only. This is DISASTER.Who was the Microsoft goofball who had this ridiculous idea?
I think they have a history of following ridiculous ideas! Plus, they stole Windows from Apple. For me it was changes made when I went from MS Office 2003 to MS Office 2010 at work. OMG what a horror tale! From this experience, having decades of experience in PC building, some coding in VBA, and much more, I decided to try out Apple w/ a new Macbook Pro. At first I was a bit perplexed by how simple things were, how easy it found my network and worked without any need to understand much of it. I think I have such a history of enjoying 'tinkering' that I perhaps didn't value just plain straightforward, easy & effective functionality. I'll put Win 7 on a partition but that is mainly because I can ;o). The more I use this thing the more I really like it! Soon, my desktop will be games only. It currently has XP-32b and Vista-64b on separate drives. It will be some time before Apple will sport an Intel Mac that is fully strong enough to support FSX/P3D. When they do, I'm thinking I'm in!Noel

The flightsim community is at a loss, but the gaming community is celebrating a win.
Who do you think will be interested in this title? Do you think gamers are going to take time away from leveling up in COD to fly around in some boring bi-plane collecting coins. If they wanted a game that appealed to the gaming public they should have made a multiplayer fighter jet game where players can dog fight each other and blow up stuff on the ground. With destructible environments..That would sell better than this. The only people that are drawn to flight simulator games are people that are interested in aviation and simulating it and the challenge of flying. I don't see this satisfying the sim types.. and the general gamers will be bored long before any DLC is out

So true...

Everyone having a fb profile please insult MS also over there, they deserve it.Thanks in advance

You may well be right about most things, but you are most definitely wrong about the above. If anything the nice folks at ACES were as much victims of the "corporate wolves" as we the flightsim community! :Hmmmph:ACES was trying very hard to give "us" what we wanted, and paid the ultimate price when they were summarily FIRED en-masse a few years ago.
Bill Another excellent reply.I like your postings Sir.The ones I have seen recently... short, to the point ,well thought out ,no hysteria.Andy

Yes.This is the MOST PATHETIC title.Six Years Later. And we'll see FSX, but with 99% of content removed! If it's Not a simulator, Not a shooter, Not a strategy, Not a role player. What is it?A stupid kid game for little johnny.A shameless DLC money grab.A complete FAIL.You know what? These guys are going to get fired too. Just like ACES did. Perhaps they will learn a lesson.Kamikaze Jobless Fools.MORONS.Keep on posting to their facebook page.

We are thousands of thousands across the world and we are growing each day in a spectacular way.Let's keep on fighting, they will retire Flight sooner than later.Thx man
they will retire Flight sooner than later.
Mark, them retiring Flight will do us not a whit of good, unless they revive their desire to advance the FS franchise in a significant way, and become dedicated to producing FS XI, and to do it right by using a new source code that is optimized to use multi-cores AND get the graphics rendering off the CPU and onto the GPU. Turned loose like that, imagine the great add-ons the devs could write.

It won't happen from MS, you know how they fooled us in the last two years, covering lies behind a secrecy curtain.Supernova extinguish and new ones will born so we have to look for new ones, sooner or later they will come. ( I like saying sooner or later in these days )-

Oh come on, we all know whats going on. Microsoft could give two sh!ts about it's loyal FS fans. Its trying to broading the market and make this into some stupid wanna-be X-Box game. What they are forgetting is, is that it is us, the hardcore FS fans and amazing external developers who have made this game what it is. I will admit that all prior Flight Sims have been basic and not much on detail, but we have certainly overcome that and we enjoy it. Trying to close the market to just yourself Microsoft is definitely what you don't want to be doing right now.Guess I'm going to stick with my FSX. :(

Happy Flying!

Most of the gaming sites are on the Kool Aid - basically, "hardcore simmer" is a term of derision for a whole cohort below 30 who game on consoles. They won't develop any loyalty if all they have to do is fly between balloons. No, they'll fly around and crash into each other, crash into others, have some L0lz and then go back to their torrents, xbox, facebook.Of course, if they use the store to come out with a new Iteration of Microsoft Combat Flight Simulation, then maybe - but still not likely.MSFS will never again be that "gee neat I have a PC" title that was purchased requisite with a new PC in the 1990s and early 2000s. The bifurcation is: MS Flight and Prepar3D.Making the base package free is smart though, I think they'll be able to sprinkle around DLC that might entice some. Plus, anything they make will be GRAVY as it is clear that the old engine (as spectacular as it is) has been re-utilized. But DLC to rival our FSX simulation experience (ATC, Airports, Airlines, Terrain Mesh, Textures, Weather, etc.)? Not without an SDK that is widely available. Nope.
