Prepare3d

Featured Replies

I spent today trying out Lockheed Martin Prepare3d. I have only installed a few sceneries in it so far, like FSDT stuff and Megascenery. The only plane Is tried so far is the PMDG NGX, because I figured if I can't get that to work with it, then I may as well stop there. However, it works just fine as well as do other addons Ive tried.I havent tried a lot of stuff yet so Im not sure if its a keeper yet. Textures are crisper and I have not seen any blurries yet. The best thing is I dont have to canibalize my FSX install, Im just pointing Prepar3d to to my FSX addon Scenery directories and adding it that way. If I deceide not to stick with it, Ill just uninstall it and FSX is still fine. FPS are about the same or slightly better in P3d, but seems alot smoother. I can crank up the visuals a little higher and still get 2-3 fps better than FSX, I do like the interface a lot better than FSX. Once P3d supports DX11, this thing will rock! Sure, its $10 a month, but I spend that at Starbuck every morning.Rob

Nice pic´s. Is Pe3D also the whole world like FSX or are there only some regions?I´m wondering about that casue the Prepar3d website states

High-detail living world with 45 airports and 39 cities

Best regards, Steffen

Fight time: NGX 737-700: 37,0h; -800: 47,2h

It has everything fsx has and in addition it has enhanced 45 airports and 39 cities.

interesting, I didn't realize you could install P3D and just point it to the FSX files....have me thinking now. :)

Are you able to add aircraft the same way ?

Nice stuff..Another person thinking here.. :-)How big is the initial download ?

Yes, you can add aircraft, scenery, external programs, basically everything. One or another addon isn't working, there are currently some small bugs which already got ironed out and are in the V2.Those shots are awesome and very very crisp. From the time I had P3D running I was very satisfied with the performance. They only need to clear out the bugs, and make a startup menu!

Not my shots! No, not paying right now. Waiting until V2 comes out, then gonna start again. I'm gonna start paying continuously when I start using it on regular basis.

Is it OK to install PMDG 737NGX on Prepar3d if you have it installed also on FSX? Isn''t there any conflict of licenses?

Yes. No.

Pictures look good Rob...just wonder how you get the product for $10 a month when it goes for $499.99?Darryl

I am actually rather impressed with the quality of those shots...is the terrain mesh P3D default ?
