January 9, 201214 yr Nah im not currently m8Right, tks. Been considering switching to ATI for the sake of Eyefinity...always on the lookout for first hand reports on the relative performance :)Having looked at your .cfg, any cause for concern with the ATI if you increased the Texture Max Load to 2048 or 4096 ? Just curious.Cheers! Edited January 9, 201214 yr by GlobalGentleman ✈ Alan ✈

The thing with 4096 i think is mainly for hd textures in rex.. i don't use hd clouds simply because i think they don't like right to me.. But that is merly my own opinion.

I have some ga a/c panels which are done as 2048, so I just keep mine higher as a buffer for anything else which might need it. Overall, hard to tell much difference either way I suppose. Tks! ✈ Alan ✈

January 9, 201214 yr Very nice screen shots Steve, I especially like the two Screenshots taken as if a camera was positioned on the dash. Ryanair and Thomson are lovely airlines of the UK. What did you have before your ATI card? The reason I ask is if you could compare it to an equivalent nVidia card. Tim HeptinstallAirports I have been to: Doncaster Robin Hood Airport EGCN, East Midlands (EGNX), Manchester (EGCC), Tenerife South/Reina Sofia Airport (GCTS), Fuerteventura Airport (GCFV), New York John F Kennedy International Airport (KJFK)Aircraft I have travelled on: 737-800 (Thomson), 737-800WL (Thomson, Ryanair), 757-200 (Thomson, Thomas Cook), 757-200WL (Thomson, Thomas Cook, American Airlines), De Havilland Dragon Rapide (Classic Wings G-AIYR). Currently studying Aeronautical Engineering at Sheffield Hallam University (UK). Applying for medicals to start PPL soon. Message me if you would like to share stories/progress.

I have never had an Nvidia so i can't really comment.
January 9, 201214 yr these videos are also with ATI but FSX controlling everything but with the poor FSX replay options. What do you see in diff to your experience?http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yS_Wnqrcjeo&list=UU-8xCaUPTkfGhwcqKnav_Tg&index=2&feature=plcphttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2nbZKoG82is/Michaeland this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T464qeTFtdQ/Michaelhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T464qeTFtdQ/Michael Michael Moe
January 10, 201214 yr Very inexperienced question, but how do you make your graphics card control everything? Craig Craig Little dual core system not worth mentioning!
January 10, 201214 yr Author Very inexperienced question, but how do you make your graphics card control everything?CraigBacially if your using ATI which is what i am at present you need to uncheck the application controlled boxes and turn up the sliders and make sure antialiasing is off in FSXBe warned though before doing this check to make sure you have a good power supply as it helps :)
January 10, 201214 yr Ok I have an ATI Radeon 43- something something. Ok so in checking those boxes is that in fsx graphics menu's? Complete biff with computer stuff at the extent! Thanks Craig Little dual core system not worth mentioning!
January 10, 201214 yr Steve, I thought TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD needed to be 4096 for the NGX (ref NGX Intro page 12)? Interesting post though, I'll definitely give it a go. The ATI cards seem less popular than Nvidia for FSX from what I have read on these forums. I was planning to go Nvidia next time. Also, do you have hyper threading disabled with AffinityMask=14? Nice shots btw.

Complete biff with computer stuff at the extent!ThanksIn the settings for graphics options at the bottom in FSX there is antialiasing and flitering options just uncheck the antialiasing one. and make sure you have asked your ati hardware to control the graphics so make sure its unchecked as application controlled in the CCC and turn up the sliders to your comfort.. Just make sure you have a good power supply before doing so as i don't want people coming back and saying i have blown what ever lolSteve, I thought TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD needed to be 4096 for the NGX (ref NGX Intro page 12)? Nice shots btw.I have a quad core AMD Phenom i don't have hyperthreading available m8..4096 is for REX I think.. does seem to look any different on my system though not sure about that one pal
