February 6, 201214 yr Zack, take what I said in the spirit in which it was intended, not to dissuade a purchase, but to give pertinent information. I am not going to get into a long debate over this, however, software has been my career for 20 years. If a feature is not complete, we don't list it as a feature. If we list a feature and it doesn't work, we release a patch, pure and simple. We don't ignore it along with the users that are having issues.I call a spade a spade. PMDG has released some great software, but who cares? That doesn't give them a pass.I did follow that with: "Just something to think about...I know many users also have no issues with it, but this was enough to put me off from this purchase. Other than that, it has stellar reviews.". I read the post. I see how it was intended, and I gave my .02 on it. No debate, just opinion. Take it or leave it. I didn't mean to step on your toes!I call a spade a spade. PMDG has released some great software, but who cares? That doesn't give them a pass. Bug that should be addressed? Absolutely. Debilitating bug? Not unless debilitating is not having ice on the windows.See! February 6, 201214 yr One that many people miss is the Simcheck A300, which is pretty darn good. Especially if the old 'Bus models interest you. Specifically if you like hauling late night and early morning freight.Wait a minute...didn't you just dis my recommendation of this in the "Best Airbus thread" saying it was only asthetically pleasing but that's about it? Now your endorsing it :( COTS B377 is an awesome package if your into aircraft from that period, and it's looks will grow on you. :( Edited February 6, 201214 yr by Blaze RE Thomason Jr.

Weren't you? *runs to dig up thread*Sure enough, I got mixed up with you and someone else in that thread. February 6, 201214 yr Author From your list, my vote is the NGX for Jets and the Stratoliner (gotta have the accusim addon) for Props . Both are very different and both the best of the best. You can't go wrong with either of these two but you will be missing a lot if you don't have both.RayYes I'm prone to think the Stratoliner is the best choice. Not only does it have very high quality but also unique qualities. For example the carrer log gives a purpose to each flight. What I do scores and is remembered. Also I don't think I have ever read such praise over performence for a airliner as in the avsim review for the B377. My experience of airliners in FS9 is that they hit performence harder than GA planes. While the Stratocruiser might feel a little obsolete I would say the NGX feels a little to modern with HUD and advanced autopilot. I might point out that I have used the old PMDG 737 for FS9 and also the PMDG 747-400. I rather spend my money on a different plane than one similary to what I already got.
February 7, 201214 yr Pilolting a 4-engine plane is more fun than piloting a 2-engine plane. Also check-out the B-377 from A2A, it's a load of fun to fly. See videos and .Cheers,- jahman.I just watched 'The Aviator', Jahman. Sounds like you should be asking A2A to make a 'Spruce Goose'. :)Btw:Ngx if wanting newB-377 for oldAnd Leonardo Maddog as the intriguing but flawed outsider. February 7, 201214 yr PMDG MD-11By far my favorite. I even like it more than the NGX..... William Sequeira
February 7, 201214 yr And Leonardo Maddog as the intriguing but flawed outsider.Have to agree. What was my favorite add-on in FS9 is somewhat lacking in the FSX environment. I just can't figure out what it is.Guys, don't forget the PMDG MD-11. My favorite freighter! She's often misunderstood and looked over. I've had the MD-11 since it was boxed and the Mcphat FedEx and UPS paints were released.EDIT: Wow William. That was not planned. February 7, 201214 yr Hi,Looking at your specs the Level D 767 would be perfect for you. It'd mean you could have scenery add ons for big airports. It works brilliantly as ahigh fidelity simulation but isn't heavy on the frame rates. Also, if you were to ever upgrade your system you could move onto any other Boeing Sim like the PMDG NGX. I use that now, it's nothing short of fantastic....The Concorde is a beautiful plane but it's a monumental chunk of time to learn it and it's super heavy of frame rates. I have an i7 930 running at 4.2ghz and 2 GTX 560ti cards for my nvidia surround and it tends to struggle at my UK2000 Heathrow when I have Ultimate Traffic 2 eneabled.I think that the Level D 767 that is easy of the frame rates will allow you to have pretty scenery and a decent amount of traffic. At least for me those things make all the difference....
February 7, 201214 yr Doesn't anybody like the iFly 737?I bought this a few months before the release date was announced for the PMDG NGX. It's a good add on but compared the PMDG it's light years behind. It might be a good option if you have a low end system. Although I don't think it runs any better myself. The PMDG is just too good for the iFly to even be an option now.Anyone who does want the iFly can have mine :)

Though it was great, I bought it to hold me over for the NGX. Performance is better on the NGX. February 7, 201214 yr The only thing the iFly has for it right now is that it already has its SDK released (and therefore FS2Crew is available), and you get more variants for less money. Even still, the NGX is so much better in my opinion in every aspect, and with the SDK very close to release, I would not recommend the iFly. Shane Gavin
