February 16, 201214 yr Your logic does not make much sense, especially when you are going by hear-say.I'm not sure how you would classify reports from the pilots who actually fly them as "hear-say", but to each his own. Jay
February 16, 201214 yr Commercial Member I'm not sure how you would classify reports from the pilots who actually fly them as "hear-say", but to each his own.Well the bottom line is the pilot group does not dictate what the airline chooses to buy. Pilots can give account of there experiences with the aircraft and give a plethora of likes and don't likes, which still would not make a decision for changing a fleet of aircraft. unfortunate to say this but, almost every rule written in aviation is written in blood. February 18, 201214 yr Here's an in-progress shot...I'm making good progress on the -700. Since this is a fictional re-paint, I am making it to be a fictional former America West bird, so it has the America West logo on the front gear doors. I also added the "merger" logo on each front door. There are no real -700 models to reference so I'm making this as close as possible to the pircutres available. The time of day is adjusted to best reflect the sheen and the colors correctly. The Dark blue is pretty dark as the real aircraft bule looks almost black unless the sun is shining right on it.The most time consuming part is next...painting the light gray ribbons. It's the alignment across the rear fuselage breaks that takes the most time. The vertical fin will be simple to add the lighter ribbons. Steve StubbsUSAF (retired)

Thanks for all your work on this! Jay
February 18, 201214 yr Commercial Member Very Impressive....well done. looking forward to your release. February 18, 201214 yr I just find it ironic an airline with the name USAirways doesnt buy US made and support our own companies.I understand your sentiment, but you have to understand that it's a business and they'll go to where the best deal is. Airbus gave us a sweetheart deal back in the late 1990's and US Airways has been trying to rationalize it's fleet ever since. I'm sure Britons might say the same thing about British Airways. They have a significant number of Boeing aircraft in their fleet.
February 18, 201214 yr I would love a 600/700 repaint, tks for the offer! Allegeny would be a great addition too :-)Me too! Thanks. Robert Yunque
February 18, 201214 yr What is the difference between an Airbus and a chain saw? About 500 trees per minute. :( Robert Yunque
February 26, 201214 yr All,Since I promised to update this thread on the U.S. Airways paints, here's we I am at.Today I uploaded both a non-winglet and winglet -700 for the current red, white and blue livery that U.S. Airways uses. The next bird to paint will be the last Allegheny livery used. That will be followed by an America West bird and lastly the previous U.S. Airways livery with a dark blue top. I anticipate doing the remaining three in a -700 non-winglet version. Here are two screen shot sof what was uploaded today. Enjoy! Steve StubbsUSAF (retired)
February 26, 201214 yr I would love a 600/700 repaint, tks for the offer! Allegeny would be a great addition too :-)Jay,Since you request the Allegheny bird, I'll ask before I start on it. Did you want a -600 or a -700. Is the paint scheme below what you were looking for? Or did you want the orange and red shaded stripes? The style below would be a quicker paint and was still being flown as late as 2008. Since Allegheny did not operate 737s, how I paint it is wide open since it will be fictional. Let me know. February 26, 201214 yr Steve, those are looking great! Whatever is easiest for you is fine, Im not picky :-)I actually saw a Piedmont/USAirways livery the other day at KPBI, I couldnt believe my eyes! Wish I had a camera with me. Jay
February 26, 201214 yr I'm goinh to shoot for the version above Steve, those are looking great! Whatever is easiest for you is fine, Im not picky :-)I actually saw a Piedmont/USAirways livery the other day at KPBI, I couldnt believe my eyes! Wish I had a camera with me.Jay,I'm going to shoot for the version above in a -700. I have rebuilt the tail logo above and found a font style pretty close. You just can't find those old logos in a size where the edge clarity is good from the start. The word "Allegheny" at a tilt (italics) is in a font I cannot determine researching the web. I found one that's real close and since this is purely fictional, I'm not going to worry about it. My version will look pretty close. Since i made the U.S. Airways bird, I have that fuselage logo to use. I had to rebuild the "U" in the U.S. Airways logo to match the real logo in the font I went with...lol. I should have it done by the end of the week. Thanks for the reply! Steve StubbsUSAF (retired)
February 26, 201214 yr Steve, The paint jobs look great. I started with Allegheny in 1979 and I always laugh when the A319 in Allegheny livery comes in the station. I tell my younger co-workers that that's the cleanest Allegheny Airplane I've ever worked. Steve, those are looking great! Whatever is easiest for you is fine, Im not picky :-)I actually saw a Piedmont/USAirways livery the other day at KPBI, I couldnt believe my eyes! Wish I had a camera with me.Jay, We have 4 A319's painted in "Legacy" paint schemes. One for Allegheny, PSA, Piedmont, America West. The PSA aircraft was in Dallas this morning.
