February 15, 201214 yr yes, it's actually great! one thing i always noticed at fsx is that the colors are way more bright then the rael one LOL, thanks again nice sir, happy valentine!Daniel,It's almost done and should be uploaded tomorrow night. I have everything done except the code under the left wing and painting the inboard fins on the engines I just thought I would show you how it's coming. The pictures reflect the darkest I'm going to adjust the orange color. FSX cannot duplicate real world lighting quite like a real photograph. I can make it match that shade of orange, but in other lighting conditions it looks too dark.Real world example taking off out of LSGG (Geneva)Roughly the same takeoff in FSX out of LSGG:Shot 2:Shot 3: Steve StubbsUSAF (retired)
February 15, 201214 yr I think you still have the default wingdecals applied though. (the PR-GUF ones, if I remember correctly.) Name available upon request

February 15, 201214 yr I think you still have the default wingdecals applied though. (the PR-GUF ones, if I remember correctly.)Thomas,You are right about the wingdecals. I will fix it. I did darken the orange a little more after posting the pictures above. I cannot find any documentation to explain the wing decals and how to apply the correct aircraft code. The PDF that came with the paintkit does not cover it. I will probably end up uploading the livery without the wingdecals if I can't figure it out. I guess a lot of trial and error is in order to figure out the application. Thanks! Edited February 15, 201214 yr by SRAces Steve StubbsUSAF (retired)
February 15, 201214 yr What I do most of the time, is take a look how the original files looks now, and just change that. Once you get the hang of it, it's not difficult at all to see how they are applied to the airframe.Making the other layers visible in the psd files does give a bit of an idea too. February 15, 201214 yr As much as I ilke USAirways, I find it ironic an airline with that name owns so many Scarebuses :-)Jay, US Air/ US Airways has been trying to standardize its' fleet for the last 20 years. Airbus gave them a sweetheart deal back in 2000 to add Airbuses to the fleet. We are now the largest Airbus operator in the world US.(I just read that Lufthansa is now the worlds largest Airbus operator). I say we because I've worked for Allegheny/US Air/ US Airways for the last 33 years. We have a number of 737-400's still in operation. The 737-300's were retired back in December although I think one or two were kept as reserve aircraft. I'll miss the Boeings as I was an operations agent in CLE when they were doing the proving runs on the 300's and got to do the weight and balance on the first one to come through our station. To confuse my understanding, I saw a -300 landing at CLT about 3 weeks ago. I was sitting in the 182 on the FBO ramp beside runway 18L-36R, so positively identified it's single overwing exit. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
February 15, 201214 yr Jay,Thanks for locating the files. It appears that the reason they are hard to find is bacause "NGX" is not listed where the search engine can find them. That livery (if indeed for the NGX) is for a -800 model. I would be willing to give a different model a shot this week if there is a desire for something other than a -800. The -300 model is close to the -700 as that model was an improvement on the -300. I can do a -700 if it's wanted. I'll see what kind of feedback I get from this thread.Zach,Thanks for the Piedmont livery comments. Glad you liked it! I really like flying the -600. I can fly it into just about any commercial airport.A US Air -700 would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks.Bob Bob Prince
February 15, 201214 yr Zach, I knew they were going to keep one or two 300's as spares. One of my co-workers told me he worked a 300 the other day so your eyesight didn't fail you.

February 15, 201214 yr Any chance we'll ever see a US Airways America-West paint for the NG? US Airways bought out Cactus/AWA back in early 2000 but I've still seen the paint scheme here and there on their 737C's - amazing paint and I would love to see it in the NGX.It really is a sweet paint. Anyone know if it's floating around somewhere? Take-offs are optional, landings are mandatory. The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire. To make a small fortune in aviation you must start with a large fortune. There's nothing less important than the runway behind you and the altitude above you. It's better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, than in the air wishing you were on the ground.
February 15, 201214 yr I say we because I've worked for Allegheny/US Air/ US Airways for the last 33 years.I have a real soft spot for Allegheny, they were almost my ticket to the majors. I flew for a 'commuter' back then and I actually got a interview notice with Allegheny. Unfortunatly, wife gave me an ultimatum, her or the airline, I made the wrong choice and ended up divorced anyway :( Jay
February 15, 201214 yr For those interested....US Airways fleet, not sure how current this is....http://www.airfleets...S%20Airways.htm Jay, It's at least pre-December. There are no more active 737-300's in our fleet. The 300's that were on our schedule here in Dallas have been replaced by Airbus aircraft.

Anyone know if it's floating around somewhere? Kenneth,Since I've committed myself to this U.S. Airways paint project, I'll add that to the list. I agree...it is a nice livery and I'll put it ahead of the dark blue top U.S. Airways livery. I'll be finishing up that EasyJet -700 and uploading it tonight. Here's the order of my paint list and I'm not going to add anymore to it for now. I'll let one of the other painters tackle other requests. These will keep my busy for a while.1. U.S. Airways - red, white and blue livery (-700 non-winglet)2. Allegheny Airlines - red and white livery (-700 non-winglet)3. America West - Livery above (-700 non-winglet)4. U.S. Airways - dark blue top livery (-700 non-winglet)P.S. - You mention the request for an "NG", so I'll assume that's a typo since this forum is for the "NGX"Cheers!
