My 1000th Post

Featured Replies

At last I have made my 1000th Avsim posting, its taken quite a while. I was pondering what to spend my 1000th post on, whether it was going to be used to help someone or have an opinion on something. I really did not want to spend it replying to a post about Microsoft Flight for example. I thought I would at least make my 1000th post worthwhile.During my time here on Avsim which has been a long time, even before we had to reregister again a few years aback, I would sometimes post images now and then, whether to promote a paint that a friend had done or simply just to inspire others. I do not post so much now, mainly because there are always so many fine pictures here and also maybe I like to spend more time flying than taking shots. The community here has grown so much.Anyway I should stop writing and get on with what I was supposed to do and that is to post some screenshots, mainly the ones that I would post here from time to time. Heres raising a glass to you all at Avsim and hope it will not take so long for the next 1000 posts.FS2000FS2002FS2004

hi,congratulationsIn my opinion, since 2000 the biggest step between two fs versions has been between fs2000 and fs2002. It shows on your screenshots. My first version was fs 2000 so I don't know how fs was before.

Thanks for all the comments. That American flag livery was made by a friend of mine back in 2001-2 I think. Was for the POsky 767. I probably have it kicking around somewhere on one of my hard disks.Regarding the first picture, Its funny how even in 2001 you could download an Airbus A380, years before it actually flew. Picture was taken with a very early version of UK 2000s Heathrow as well with the Alitalia plane which was not proper AI like it is today but was actually dynamic scenery which would follow a path around the airport then either vanish or come back round and land again, was so long ago I can not remember. The helicopter with the AI traffic at the gate, 4th picture down was pretty popular when I posted it originally, so much so that Project AI even used part of the image on their website for ages and ages. Take a look at this snapshot from 2005 and you will see.http://web.archive.org/web/20050101042849/http://www.projectai.comBenorg,it is amazing that you are amassing over 100 posts a week, would take me almost a year to do that.

Congrats on your 1000th post! :mile: The pictures are all very nice and clearly show the developement over the years.Btw the 2 from 2004 are a bit too heavy. They have to be 200kb or less, so please stick to this rule next time.

Best regards, Steffen

Hiya Steffen, sorry about that, it was probably because the last two I had not posted on Avsim before and the first 8 were pretty small in filesize as way back when I had posted them on Avsim I think even a 100kb limit was in place. But will make sure any pics I post from now on will each be 200kb and under. I did try and replace those images just now by editing my original post but found alas, I could not anymore.CheersCraig
