February 26, 201214 yr We have added a couple of small feature additions today that we thought you would enjoy... All but maybe one...Keep your spouse / mate / significant other away from this feature addition! If you look at the Index page to the forums, you will now see at the top of the Right Hand Column a block entitled TOP 5 ONLINE USERS. This is NOT the top five posters for the day, nor of the month. It is the TOP FIVE USERS of the forums in terms of accumulated time spent here. That's right; if you live in the forums, you are going to be rewarded by you name and cumulated time being shown here in bright lights for the whole world to see!!! Need I say it? Including those that you might not want to see it.The second feature we have added today is a count of the number of viewers reading a given forum at the time you enter the main page of the forums. It will appear as "Hangar Chat (8 Viewing)" as an example. As we have sure you have seen (how could you not notice), we have added a display of recently uploaded images across the top of the index page. These images have been uploaded to the Gallery by individual gallery members. When you have time, take a look at these. They are stunning and are done by some of the best FS "arteests" in our community. We hope you enjoy the new additions to the community system!I forgot to add... the time is measured from the time we installed this feature at about 1700 today. I suspect I know who will maintain his presence at the top of the list (cause he has no LIFE!!! :( ).... JSkorna. Jim, we love you. Someday we'll send you a bill for the bandwidth!
February 27, 201214 yr So does that mean some folks actually spend more time in the Forums discussing Flight Sim then time in an actual Flight Sim....LOLCheers Everyone :) Edited February 27, 201214 yr by ytzpilot Matthew Kane I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me
February 27, 201214 yr No Fair! I was on the top of the list at first because I have no life (I guess!!), but now others stayed logged in and off the list I went. I guess I'll leave a Chrome tab open and wow, 24/7/365!!No, I fly WAY more then post here: over 15K hours at my VA and I think close to 700 hours at FSE.

February 27, 201214 yr No, I fly WAY more then post here: over 15K hours at my VA and I think close to 700 hours at FSE.That's cool....I've never logged Flight Sim time and I think too late for that now for meCheers Edited February 27, 201214 yr by ytzpilot Matthew Kane I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me
February 27, 201214 yr That's cool....I've never logged Flight Sim time and I think too late for that now for meCheersYou should start now! Back up that FSX logbook you have now and from now on every week or so. I've had mine since 2010. Let's just say I have more sim hours than RL... Look at your pilot report in the FSX main menu. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
February 27, 201214 yr Another thing I have to let my spouse not see? ..... Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!
February 27, 201214 yr That's cool....I've never logged Flight Sim time and I think too late for that now for meCheersI log my time in a actual hardcopy pilot logbook. More for entertainment purposes so i can go back and see how much time I have spent stareing at the pc Intel I7 12700KF / 32 GB Ram-3600mhz / Windows 11 - 64 bit / NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060TI / 32" Acer Monitor, Honeycomb alpha/bravo, CH rudder pedals, Tobii 5, Buttkicker, Logitech radio panel.

Look at your pilot report in the FSX main menu. The thing is I've been flight siming on and off since I was 12 so there is no way to go back on it. I can guesstimate it but not too worried about it.FSX is a good hobby that I enjoy after a long day at work. Not sure I want to go beyond a few enjoyable flights by tracking a log book. It is enough that I have to manage the Third Party purchases that I download and back that stuff up. I also made a rule not to tweak anymore as that takes away from enjoyment as well. So the minimum I do with FSX the more I enjoy it.Cheers Matthew Kane I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me
February 27, 201214 yr Commercial Member Although I certainly appreciate your efforts Tom, this is one feature I think is pointless...It will just encourage the medal-chasing types to loiter with their browser open, thus rendering your statistics ineffective in the end. It's already showing, with a bunch of teenagers having been online for 9 hours, or in other words, pretty much since you enabled the mod! Also, IPB forums already provides a Posts Per Day function within a members profile under community stats, not sure if you'd seen that. Now I have to figure out a way to generate a score based upon total time in forums and the number of posts a user has made. That would be a great "metric", as they say... :(Actually, to make it more accurate, you'd also need a way to filter out the "drive by posts" such as "+1" and simple, one line replies! I don't recall just what forum software it is, but I've run into some places where posts fewer than X number of words aren't even allowed to be posted... :( Fr. At last count Ben is at the top:Ben Cap - ERSTime Online: 1d 14m 36s Keeping up with the Joneses....LOLI have no interest in loging FSX time or Forum times.....I fly FSX on occassion as it relaxes me after a day at work. I like these forums because they keep my informed on the latest. Anything more then that is too much in my books.I would rather spend excess time and energy making more money in my job so I can afford to travel in the real world. My next trip will be to Samoa.....Excessive FSX time would take away from that.Cheers Matthew Kane I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me
