March 1, 201214 yr Thanks for taking questions!I don't know if you can answer this, but is there a way to get rid of the (annoying hehe) crosshair?I think you turn off 'use mouse to fly aircraft' in the options.Ed.
March 1, 201214 yr Author Thanks for taking questions!I don't know if you can answer this, but is there a way to get rid of the (annoying hehe) crosshair?If you want to fly with the mouse...........NO. (I suggested that a few times during the beta or to even make the crosshair much smaller.)Hopefully in a future update !Fred. Frederic Steiner.
March 1, 201214 yr Pressing the spacebar enters and exits mouse flying mode and shows/hides the crosshairs.
March 1, 201214 yr Hmm i was using my X52 lol. But i still think mouse mode was enabled. So i just need to uncheck enable mouse sounds like, thanks! Edited March 1, 201214 yr by Chalkman -Scotty
March 1, 201214 yr We weren't able to fix binding the brakes to joystick axes for final release. We will be fixing it for a future update. As a work around you can bind the brakes to buttons and it should work, although I know this is not idealI actually can't even get the brakes to work with buttons either. I have a Logitech F710 gamepad and I use the two front triggers for the left and right brakes respectively. I run the controller in Windows mode (as opposed to XBox 360 mode) and those triggers are recognised as actual buttons in Windows 7.When I allocate these buttons to the brakes, Flight seemingly accepts the mappings without problems and they appear correctly. But they still do not work.i'll be interested to see if this fix will help in my situation, as currently I have no option but to use the "X" key.
March 2, 201214 yr Author For anyone using the mouse to fly !I think it is very important before you start to fly to make sure you go into Options/Aircraft Controls and select Invert Mouse Pitch.If you don't you will start learning a very bad habit......and it's very hard to undo later.In the real world and even using a joystick, you always pull back to lift the nose of the plane etc.....(I mentioned this during the beta but nobody thought it was important.)Fred. March 2, 201214 yr (I mentioned this during the beta but nobody thought it was important.)Even as an impressed Flight fan, I am going to say something negative about MS here: They are at times experts in ignoring inherently sensible and logical suggestions by beta testers, to the point where I sometimes wonder why they conduct beta tests at all. Your suggestion was such an obvious one, and one that would have taken MS literally 5 minutes to program into the game. I agree that it is just a matter of checking a checkbox but it is good programming practice to have the most sensible options as defaults to begin with. Edited March 2, 201214 yr by JonP01

March 2, 201214 yr You will need to hand-edit the standard.xml file to add the paramaters for each of the two button entriesThanks very much Bill. I did not even consider doing that, and I really ought to have. I had already edited in zero null zones by hand so should have remembered that earlier MS flight sims always had to have repeat on for button brakes. Thanks again. I think we need to have a dedicated tips and tweaks thread started. Edited March 2, 201214 yr by JonP01

All LIVE titles are required by LIVE to use that setting by default, so there is nothing Flight can do about it. Hopefully at some point they add it to xbox.com at least. March 2, 201214 yr The reason for the mouse axis defaulting the way it does is because it's easier for the new user. When transitioning to a joystick, there is nothing to unlearn.Hook Larry Hookins Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of EarthAnd danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;

Anyone with a valid "Tip or Trick" for Flight is welcome to post an article in the dedicated "Flight Game" section.If you don't see TUTORIALS in the top menu bar, click on the MORE button. Fr. March 2, 201214 yr Just another bit of info from the Devs !MAX Setting in Options menu ??"Maximum is only available on 64-bit OSes, or if you enable the /3GB switch in your 32-bit OS."Fred.Flight.exe doesn't like the /3GB switch on the command line. Is there some other way I should be applying this switch, or have they removed it from the final release? Ian.
