Folks,I don't know who of you have purchased this product from Flight1 (GEX); however, I am deeply disappointed with this product. I was expecting a significant increase in terrain detail such as mountains, volcanoes, valleys, main cities rivers, etc. etc. However, it is pretty much almost the same as default FSX + plus minor foolishh-generic- looking fields and buildings....No landmarks...No improvement to main mountians or rivers or land or anyhring else. Goodness.... Wow, from GEX? I was expecting something much, much betterI flew most parts of Central America with sliders to the MAX, and did not like what I see...Absolutely no improvement...NADA !--->> Question: Does anyone know if one can request and get a refund on this product from Flight1? I honestly hate to give away my money, or throw away my money. I'd rather give it to someone who is hungry, homeless, and in need.Thanks,Johnny

your expectations were really, really wrong. GEX has always been advertised as what it is, a set of replacement ground textures. At no time has GEX said it would alter the topographical features of FSX. So what ever mountains you see after installation of GEX were there before installation. Same for rivers, roads, non-autogen buildings, etc.Go to the main Flight1 site and open a support ticket for a refund. It's really fairly simple and doesn't warrant the drama of your post, IMO.

Drama...I don't see why getting a refund should be a dramatical event. jeje Well, even if the product is only meant to change "a few things" on the ground, it did not happened with this product. So, if someone uses a cc to make a purchase and does not like or get what he/she expected, well, I don't see where the king went with the draaama. :( Therefore, I would suggest to the developer, please, please, please...do a better job, put time and efforts in making something worth-while..like the one you did for the U.S..See how nice it looks. Sure, they are 2 differents regions; however, (and trust me on this one), the ground in C.A., Mexico, or South America DOES NOT look like what GEX has...In fact, GEX makes no significant positive difference as in the USA version...Any way going for my refund. Chao !

Agree.. USA is the best, the rest is just, well.. (censored) - and Europe is just plain awful, maybe they (Nick & Anthony) got dizzy by all the tile shuffling?Anyway, I´ve removed all GEX and fly only ORBX now, you should do the same Johnny767! :(

Why not post this diatribe @simforums ? I am sure Nick would explain to you in perfect detail how the textures are placed. I have to agree with Meshman, you are being a bit of a drama queen. Flight 1 offers outstanding support, and that is where you should have gone with this.

Am I the only one here who notices significant difference during the transition from GEX to default FSX ground textures?

well i did the opposite.i unistalled orbx and went back to Gex based scenery.the original poster is typical of someone who jumps in and buys something without really knowing what they are buying.if he had really done his homework he would have known that GEX are textures only,nothing else.they replace the default textures with there own ones.now if you want better mesh coastlines,rivers,railways or better landclass you buy UTX to go with it.johnny don't blame the guys at GEx because you didn't understand what you were buying.reason i uninstalled orbx ..fed up just flying in a relatively small area of the usa.i had all four areas pnw,crm,nrm and pfj as i fly ngx and not bush flying it just got a bit small.still very good scenery tho. steve-0

And to justify our findings, we compare USA and the other products--- There is (I repeat), there is a huge and significant difference ...That, my amigo/friends is why some of us are upset...It clearly shows the difference in efforts; or lack of it, from one product to the other.

USA is ok, Canada...meh fields are way way way to bright (I'm a farmer so I can say that:D). Europe.....absolutely terrible in my opinon, I still use it because I think its a little better then defaut, but barely.

HelloWhat I use now for the rest Europe where I am not using photoscenery is Adam Mills seasonally adjusted FSX default set, overlaid with Aime Leclercq's darkened textures,(available in the library) very nice when combined with UTE and Scenery tech landclass.This is the nicest combination I have managed to find.GEX EU (aka carpet world) is just wrong on so many levels for this area.Aime is currently working on a huge 50 cm and 30cm texture set which should be stunninghttp://sites.google.com/site/aimecreations/30cm-project

Good info, thanks mad dog!Yes, Leclerq has made some excellent stuff, the whole world actually..Let me explain GEX Europe:The farmland looks like16th century Europe, small and cozy tiles, and yes, that´s the way FSX looks, but the colors/tone etc. are wrong.Not my taste, and yes, I used it with UTX, FSG 2010, REX, ASE, and SceneryTech.Don´t really see the problem in mentioning this..
