Disable destination marker

Featured Replies

I too wish we could turn off the marker, and allow maybe a scaled back map for mission job mode where you can only bring it up for ref and not move your plane around on it. Would also be great if you forgot to top up the fuel then you could look for an airport near by to refuel at.

Hey guys! You want "real"... give us a GPS. Even a hand held one. OH, I DO know how to use ALL other forms of navigation. But if you ask any pilot what he/she "prefers" to use for navigation, thier answer will probabaly be GPS... if's safer. VORs and NDBs can always be used as a backup to the GPS.Hey, um just sayin' :Peace:

I use a popup with GPS/AP in almost all my FSX add-ons. Even the ones without AP available. My theory, if you got, use it. No one is forcing me to use the popup but I want it when I wonder - what is that airport over there or how do get home from here. or how long is that runway or how short is that runway.I agree, a GPS is almost expected in most aircraft nowadays.Ray

an ATIS isn't going to help you navigate the wind between airports...winds aloft chart would though...and we need that in the game....any ATIS/AWAS/ASOS......any weather report would b better than nothing though.

Is that right? I'm sure I've used it in a mission/challenge and have deffo used it in an aerocache hunt, or am i going totally mad? (very possible) I'm going home to check soon..!
You cannot access the map during a mission. I'm guessing they do this in order to avoid you accessing the map and repositioning the plane or changing the time of day (you get a bonus for flying missions at night where possible). It's either you fly the entire mission or you skip to waypoint. I'm guessing Flight doesn't have the ability to give you points for flying a portion of the mission before skipping. You either get the entire bonus for not skipping (which is quite substantial) or you get zero. It's too bad they don't have a version of the map that you can access in Flight where you can't touch your plane. Without this and without any other working form of navigation that I know how to use I need the destination marker to know where I'm going.

Er... to make things even more complicated: missions don't have a bonus for not skipping. You can skip all through a mission without any problem. Jobs have a bonus for not skipping.

Would love a toggle for the mouse crosshair too. I mostly fly using the mouse but would love to not have that big crosshair on the screen.Fred.

Right, right. I get the two mixed up. I meant jobs that you pick up from the job board. That's where you get the no skip bonus. My bad.

Hi! I'm new around here, and all I can say is this community rocks! I too find these destination markers annoying, they remove all the fun of planning a nav...If we can't remove it, could it be possible to tweak configuration files to make it transparent or of some less visible color? Can an experienced tweaker comment on the feasibility of this? Wasca

I just sent feedback to [email protected] about adding an option to remove the Destination Marker on Jobs and Missions in the same way that the Distance Display can be suppressed on Aerocache Hunts. Please do the same if you also prefer to use your own knowledge and instruments to figure out where to go, rather than being led around by the golden carrot.

I just did the same, maybe we could get an XP bonus when flying the jobs without the destination marker!

How about hoops leading the way from take off to landing ?

A simple toggle: [X] - Disable destination markers for job board flights
or for the intermediate pilot a destination sensor like with the aerocaches...

I flew the Hawaii Photo Book mission last night. Destination markers are essential for this one, as the passenger wants to go some odd places at times.Hook
