March 29, 201214 yr Big ship?At present it more resembles the Kon-Tiki, and indeed it is limited to a small part of the Pacific Ocean A.LOL, you're absolutely right :) Too bad MS Flight isnt a big ship or we would have 40 coin missions, most of the US navy fighters "basic" version and this years spring collection in coconut braas :P- -- - Kinetic
March 29, 201214 yr Of course, the True Hard-Core Maxtreme Simmers ™ only ever fly between Schipol & Frankfurt in cargo B737s, at night, in cloud, so I guess all you ever need is the cockpit and an autopilot on/off switch. While I absolutely don't consider myself an hardcore gamer, it would be quite easy to reverse the value of that sentence: "At least the hard-core can fly anywhere in the world where they prefer, and not only circle endlessly over Honolulu, they can use jets and are not obliged to sit directly over the wings of old birds" A.
March 29, 201214 yr If you cant handle the slow release of sparse content and cant decide if you should invest in MS Flight ...save yourself the frustration and come back in one year ... then you'll know :)If many people did what you suggest, Flight may not be available in a year.
March 29, 201214 yr If many people did what you suggest, Flight may not be available in a year.It was a friendly advice to hardcore-simmers who's been waiting for a good new simulator for years. MS Flight tries to get income from new casual gamers, so even if the 10% hardcore simmers including this forum choose to wait, it's the 90% or so casual gamers that are expected to make the most income. If MS Flight doesn't attract enough casual gamers, then it's their marketing that will be to blame... because they haven't exactly taken the regular simmers wishes seriously.- -- - Kinetic
March 29, 201214 yr I think it is starting to resemble the Titanic at the moment, if the reaction on this thread is any guide. And that's the big question, isn't it? Is the reaction in this thread a guide to....... anything. We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... To the rest of the Universe atomically. March 29, 201214 yr Well to be honest, it was a worse reaction on Facebook, and I should think that's less of a hard core simmer audience, so if anything, this is quite mild by comparison. Either way, if MS wanted to gauge the market, now they really know the score, and I suspect some of their marketing people might not have been having an easy time of it over the past day or so. They wanted all the add-on market, and it just goes to show that sometimes one has to be careful what one wishes for.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here

March 30, 201214 yr Moderator That may be Bill, and you certainly would know a heck of a lot better than I, and if it is that will be sad for all the Track IR users. However I will say as I have said many times before - this is the first flight sim to come out in a long time, that did not include support for that peripheral. Flight supports other peripherals as regards to controllers. Even recognized my Cougar by name, along with many others as well I am sure.Neither FS9 nor FSX has ever "supported" TrackIR. Instead, MS provided an API to Natural Point so they could program TrackIR to support FS9 and FSX.Don, you keep putting the cart before the horse in this situation. Also, we need to keep in mind the economy of scale here. What is the ratio of game controllers (sticks, yokes, etc.) versus TrackIR? Providing "native support" for sticks and yokes is a trivial task, since it involves nothing more than a configuration file entry. Fr. March 30, 201214 yr Don, you keep putting the cart before the horse in this situation.Well if that is what I am doing, you can rest assured I intend to continue to do so... :smile:Imho, there is no excuse whatsoever for a flight sim released in 2012 to not have Track IR support. And it certainly has been a long time since one was.All of course, my opinion only. Don B
March 30, 201214 yr Commercial Member Did AeroFlight FS have TrackIR support? Kevin Miller 3D Artist and developer

The target audience are indeed very likely to have TrackIR. It's used for almost all FP games out there. And that IS the target audience.
March 30, 201214 yr Did AeroFlight FS have TrackIR support?from google search of AeroFlight FS have TrackIRGet into the pilot seat on the aeroflyFS and fly the most realistic flight simulator ....The aeroflyFS simulator supports TrackIR, which is one of the most widely ...
March 30, 201214 yr Or a vocal few are just making it seem like a bigger deal than it really is.thanks Joshua...same quote as from your interview..but the numbers don't lie - we are still in early release and the comments on sites like this as well as Flights own board have gone alarmingly negative...combine the comments about the DLC aircraft shells with the "lack of realism" (ie: real weather, ATC, AI traffic, et al) comments etc and compare to positive posts and see the numbers in black and white.Flight is not for simmers - and Flight is not for gamers - and Flight is not attracting some new Hybrid of the two....its just not the right ideaMake a Game about Flying for Gamers that has Points and leader boards and Hoops and pitless planes of Fame and excludes (happily) any 3PD involvementthen Make a Flight Simulator the likes of which has never been seen before as only MS can do - and OPEN it up for the pure enjoyment of Flight Simmers and Modelers and Programmers AND SELL THEM BOTH - THEN you will make money

Unless someone from Natural Point can state unequivocally that they've sold over 1.5 million units, they aren't even a fraction of the total "target market" Fr.
