I fly FS9 with a once-Ferrari-now-with-mostly-Fiat-parts due to zero $.After having foolishly looked at these pix I am not sure whether to mas****ate with desire or throw up with envy.(If you´ll pardon my French.)

Ok, here's a pic of my computer/cockpit.Let's start at the lower left edge: My computer started out as a Q9550 two years ago, but now has a new CPU, mobo and RAM. Now it's a 2500K oc'ed to 4.3GHZ on an Asus P67, 8 GB Ram DDR3 1600 and a GTX285 with 2GB RAM. The computer has no internal HD anymore, but 2 SSDs with 256GB RAM each on a 6GB/s SATA connection. It's very quiet due to an excellent CPU cooler and the lack of HDs :-)Above the computer you see my TrackIR cap, above that my Sennheiser headset for the speech recognition (MCE, FS2Crew). In the same compartment there's the remote swith for the Belkin power supply (I switch everything off but the home network when not flying). On the floor, you see my Saitek rudder pedals.Above them, from left to right: The Matrox Dualhead2Go Digital, a Netgear ReadyNAS Raid1 for the backups of my FSX software (2 redundant 500GB drives). Next is a 1TB external Lacie HD on an USB 3.0 connection - I run all programs that aren't associated to FSX from it. Next is a secondary 1TB backup drive on USB 2.0. Then two 7:1 Belkin USB hubs, a Netgear switch, a netgear router and the cable modem.Let's move up, again from left to right. The external DVD writer is because the internal drives in my computer are too old to connect to the mobo *g*. Then you see a Logitech wireless mouse, behind it one of two Bose speakers (subwoofer is hidden behind the monitors) and in front of the mouse the volume control for the Bose system. Above the keyboard is the Saitek yoke, then there are the switch panel, above it the BIP panel, and on the right side the commm and the multifuction panel - all from Saitek. The throttle quadrant is from Saitek as well. Behind the mouse pad is the VRInsight Mpanel. Two monitors (1650x1080) amd the TrackIR complete my setup. The laser printer is for charts and things like that :-)Hope you like it :-)

Is it only me, or your computer has a sticker from DiTech, a computer store here... Would mean you are from Austria? Also having that old UPC modem :Big Grin: Very nice setup though!

You are right, of course, this is a DiTech sticker, computer originally built with the help of Mr. Himmer, the Ditech FSX guru (whose advice is always excellent and helpful). And I am from Vienna - at least since nearly 30 years *g*

Show-off! :smile:How do you get anything done with a desk area looking like that?

Thanks for the compliments, guys!Darem, the Corsair unit is great, but you can see I modded it a bit. If I were in the market for a new cooler right now, I would wait for the Corsair h100 which should be available in the next month or two. That's exactly my problem, Funky - I get nothing done! I've got lab work, more field work, and a thesis to complete this summer!!!

Wow that's too tidy for me lol!If I had one less sata drive I could take out that bottom compartment... oh well... still it's an excellent case! I envy your Asus board...Also... I used a modular PSU in the past but never had this fancy of a case. If I would have thought a bit harder about the cabling I definitely could have gone with a non-modular PSU. Yours looks so clean in that config. Do you have any issue with the cables bowing the side panel out a little? I guess that's what I run into. Not a show stopper- the thing sits under my desk so no one can see it lol. In fact, when I take it out for Fall cleaning I'll try to re route some of my cable mess (at the top I have a tangle of randomness), and re route my GPU power cables... for some reason I was too lazy to do them haha!

Ryan,I always thought a modular PSU was the only way to get a clean looking system, but I realize now that it would have only added more clutter. Of course, you do have to get over this hump of being too afraid to modify your PSU. I mean, who needs 6 molex connectors?! Or 2 floppy connectors??? Or even 6 Sata connectors if you're not into RAID arrays? I cut off all but the first molex on two rails and all but the first sata cable on one rail. About the time you realize how easy it is to snip off the clutter you will also realize how easy it would be to re-add it in the event you need it again. But I'm not worried about that. With a few zip-ties, you should be able to make it all fit without the side panel bowing. But reducing the unnecessary clutter certainly makes it easier. It even afforded me the room to stuff the front panel USB3 connector that came with my mobo on the side of the 5.25" bays (though I removed the 3.5" box). And since the mobo has such good fan control, I even removed the fan controller and it's mess of wires from the case. I have the case fans controlled via the mobo instead. Only problem is my top 200mm fan stalls out if the speed is too low, so I've been in the process of adjusting the fan profile to prevent that.My PSU cabling now looks like the following. Anything red/crossed out is what I snipped off and anything green is what I added.--> 24-pin power--> 8-pin CPU power--> 6-pin GPU (removed 2 pins for now)--> 8-pin GPU--> Molex --> Molex --> Molex --> Molex -> Floppy--> Molex --> Molex --> Molex --> Molex -> Floppy--> Sata --> Sata --> Sata --> Sata--> Sata --> Sata --> Sata --> SataI'm a minimalist... Anyway, I'll take a picture of the cable routing behind the mobo tray when I get a chance. You can only make that so pretty!

Haha, I'll say! The fact that I have 5 sata devices doesn't help lol. I've had these drives in my old system and I decided to just keep them for the new install.
