Hi there,

Not wishing to offend you in any way, but this thread contains comments similar to those that you made in reference to the appearance of the textures in Fly Tampa's St. Maarten package (http://forum.avsim.n...-the-caribbean/). In that thread too, graphic/texture anomalies that you observed were not observed by others. Is it possible, then, that your graphics card may starting to fail? There is no question in my mind that you see what you see; however, because these observations are not also shared by many others, it would also appear on the face of it that these graphics issues must have a cause residing more locally, potentially. Just a thought... Rusty

Hi Rusty, sure, I hear what you are saying. My comments about FlyTampa's scenery was not about the quality of the actual resolution, far from it, I just feel that it's not that realisitcally recreated. I think i can probably put that down to me spending most of my time in Orbx country! As for this aircraft, hmm, I guess I was expecting a higher res texture, that's all. I have to admit, for those who know me, I am a bit of a pedantic SOAB and tend to be quite a perfectionist, which is not always easy to live with. I'm beginning to think that perhaps it's me and the plane is OK. The problem is, I guess it's like most things, you have an idea of what something's going to be like, based on information you have gained from different sources and when it arrives and doesn't live up to expectations then I need to verify that nothing is wrong!

I can produce those effects if I zoom in very close, with certain lighting angles...

I think it may be an issue with mip maps and the environment map.... and possibly something that we can't fix ie an FSX bug...

As far as the gauge glass, I hear what you are saying... I can't tell there's glass until I get over to one side and then view the panel... it's not like RA's Duke

Try some different paints and spend time looking at the details of the airplane.... maybe not every rivet

is modeled in exquisite detail, but the overall impression is really, really nice IMHO.

Hi Ryan and Bert, thanks fellas for going to the trouble of posting some screenies, that's a big help. Now I've seen some comparable shots I can feel a little easier. I'm just lookin around the file library for some alternative repaints. Thanks once again, appreciated.

Whether you intended or not the "anomaly" is depicted in your shot hehe....

Right! What's going on here? Someone dissin' mah ride? Rocky, no-one is happy with the broad in the left hand seat. Danny (Maher) is aware of it and at some time in the future there will be an alternative. In the meantime stay inside the cockpit where you belong!

Textures? No problems here, but then I don't go poking FSX with a sharp stick. Not very often anyway.

I can't do a flight these days without a few rolls, loops, spins and hammerheads along the way

Cue shameless plug. Check out my RV7 paints on AVSIM. Search Ron Attwood. All of mine are real life aircraft. (No imagination)

And THAT is part of the magic! There are videos of proud dads watching their baby's first take off. Has to be well emotional after a couple of years graft.

As always my friend, you always bring a spark to the conversation. I'm off to check out your repaints... and they'd better be good! :Peace:

And I had to get up at 5 am every morning to shoot six light coats of yellow.........because the paint would

flash to quick when the summer temps were above 80. All stripes were taped by hand. Only decals used.. are the lettering.

Note: the hangar isn't mine, or my garage.

You're so right! I remember when I did the research before buying this addon, I ended up sitting on youtube for well over an hour just watching RV "first flight" videos, there's something special about kit planes. The "related videos" youtube function is a dangerous thing.

A labour of love. Nice job.

Yeah right.

I think there's a menu to remove the pilot and her sunglasses. Check the little app that gets installed with the plane.

Thanks PingPong I'll check that out. Hey fellas, I've just experienced somthing that's not right. For some reason when I cut back the throttle on approach or idling after landing, the engine sometimes sounds as though it is on almost full throttle. It's almost as though it hasn't skipped to the correct WAV file. Any ideas fellas?

Is it on full throttle? I mean, is the throttle lever in the VC pushed forward? If it is, I'd hazard a guess you have another throttle attached to the PC that is trying to horn in on the game. Just a thought.
