May 3, 201214 yr Hi Moonlight That's how I used mine, but the projection screen was smaller - in your terms: 60" 4:3. But 'depth perception' would describe the immersion effect I felt. A 2D panel on the screen nearest to me improved that illusion. Sub panels and FSNavigator on the other screens helped. As I think back, it really was rather good. My reason for 'moving on' was that the projector needed a darkened room. And the undocking process meant a Windows header was always present. One of my pictures above shows the setup, but not in action. The projector was above and behind me, and the throw was about 3.5M like yours. Regards Frank Jones
May 3, 201214 yr A couple of things to remember. Most HD 27" or 28" monitors come in 1920 x 1080 resolution. That is the same resolution as my large 42" Samsung 1080P high def tv. So, HD TVs leave something to be desired in that the same image will be stretched over a much larger area if you go with a TV. Blurry. So a good 27" monitor will give you a great field of view - the same as the high def tv. My experience with a TH2G was solid - but you will notice that if you set up a view where you are picking up a lot of peripheral view outside the plane, that the scenery will likely be blurry for a good chunk of that monitor. FSX just can't draw fast enough or at a radius of detail to fill it with detailed textures. Setting a larger radius of detail in the config file helps a bit, but complex planes will drain out your memory. I got rid of my TH2G for the blurry reason, but also because a lot of games didn't work with it. I don't know if that's true for the video card driven solutions. I'll let others chime in here. I have a samsung 27" LCD monitor and I'm very happy with it. so is the GF who hated all the monitors. In the NGX you can set up a great field of view, and I use EZ Dok to have a variety of views mapped to buttons on my Warthog HOTAS - take off, approach, mcp, cdu, instruments only, landing view etc. I like it a lot and don't miss the TH2G at all. May 4, 201214 yr And then they say we Mods are bad people... I could have locked it, but found it too valuable. Do respect that we have Hardware forums! And that we like keeping order.

Hi Frank - apologies for not replying sooner - I'm only an occasional visitor. There are multi-monitor issues with docking, although many (all?) HD/HD ready projectors have an option called "overscan" where you can clip the window border.
May 10, 201214 yr I say forget all this triple monitor business. I'm currently rocking on a 42" samsung HDTV, but the ST1080 visor (1080p) will be releasing soon. Pair that up with trackIR and you'll get full immersion. Similar to the sony 3d headset but full HD. http://www.siliconmicrodisplay.com/st1080.html Soarbywire - Avionics Engineering
May 10, 201214 yr No very useful if you cant see your real cockpit hardware in front of you, e.g. an MCP with displays, switch panels and overheads etc, if it wasn't for that fact I would get one of those in a heartbeat.. edit never mind I never clicked on the link, maybe I will get one. Cheers, Andy.
May 10, 201214 yr edit never mind I never clicked on the link, maybe I will get one. Andy, aren't you the one that posts frequently on the vrsight forums? Any idea when they will be releasing their PMDG 737 NGX compatible software? I'll see the review of these first, is there any videos about them? No, but there are a couple of the sony 3d headset at 720p running with trackir. Pretty cool IMHO. Ahhh, finally! A fullHD glasses. Might think about these. Expensive tho. They were offering it at 699 for those that pre-ordered. Hopefully these will drop in price to <600 within the next few years. I think Sony will come out with a 2nd generation full HD headset so we'll have some competition. Soarbywire - Avionics Engineering
May 10, 201214 yr Andy, aren't you the one that posts frequently on the vrinsight forums? Any idea when they will be releasing their PMDG 737 NGX compatible software? Yes I am I run the forum for them. Some NGX stuff has been out for a while, some of it is still in beta (mainly the overhead panel driver) as the SDK for the NGX has some stuff missing or broken in it at the moment and PMDG won't be fixing or updating the NGX SDK until the 777 is released!! or at least that's what I read on the FS Flight Keeper forums according to Thomas the developer. Take a look at the page below for the latest VRi software direct from the developers little web page. http://vrinsight.com/devel_shot/ Cheers, Andy.
May 10, 201214 yr Dose any know the difference between 3H2Go Matrox and NVsurround for 3 screens when it comes to the fisheye effect. I'm using NVsurround which produces quite a zoom effect on screens 1 & 3. thx IM
