PMDG 777 Information

Featured Replies

Thanks! Glad that this post has been of some help to a few of you out there.

As for the speculation on release date, go to the second video around the 11:20 mark. RSR says they anticipate releasing it this year. Mind you, that was at the end of March and a lot of things could have changed, but I don't think they've announced any unexpected delays.

Jason did say something about us being surprised about something while back in a speculation thread.

That got me too excited! Have you noticed that PMDG are telling us stuff about what's going to be in it, what's done & what's not. Are they doing that on purpose instead of massive updates every week you think?

I have noticed that they seem to be a bit more vocal (or would that be "typical"?). However, I'm in the middle. I like the short question-answer method (Is there going to be X in the T7? Yes/no.) but I do sort of miss the long-winded, detailed explanations of what's going on. But look at it this way, if they are too vocal they aren't doing anything. If they are too quiet they are working their butts off. (Or they don't want to talk to us...)

Not really sure, this is the first Project I've really followed apart from the freeware Project Airbus A380 a few years back. Yeah if it wasn't for the Munich videos I believe Rob was going to give an ''Official" update and go over everything. But really, we know about 80% (maybe more) of the 777's features already don't we? Know all the detail the Exterior will have, know the VC is clearly a step up from the NGX with all the detailed switches and what not. Know will have the on screen checklists, we haven't got an official word on the Taxi Camera though. FMC will be exact like the real Aircraft, will have all the MFD Displays. I'm not sure what else we don't know apart from how long it's from beta :LMAO: I know in 10 days that we'll be 2 Months from the conference!

Last time I checked Robert has 8 minions (or whatever The Mob calls the Boss's right-hand men) to do his bidding so I'd say we've been getting small "official" updates...

I'm willing to bet that we won't get a taxi cam. You want one, you can just use an external viewpoint. The communications part of the MFD displays I don't think is important (unless you fly online). Other than those two things, beta, a release date, and pricing, I think everything's been covered.

Concerning beta, I've got my own conspiracy theories that I'm not going to mention here. You've been counting the days since the conference? Nerd!

No, simply it was on the 23d and today is the 13th.. Simple Math! But yeah when you love the 777 as much as me you'll be very excited for this.

Remember they said they were expecting release of the 737 by Christmas 2010. We see where that went. I think they have gotten smart about not telling us as much because they see where it got them. I'm hoping for this year too but I am certainly not holding my breath. I will not be the least bit surprised if we don't see this thing until spring 2013.

You do have a very valid point indeed. Something could pop up in development that could stall it for a long time. I guess what's making me and maybe others think we can see a release soonish' is that a lot of Data from the 737 that they had to develop from scratch can be used in the 777. Not sure about the whole process as I'm no developer ha. Also the fact the 777 was claimed to be 2 months of Beta, and with people like Jason saying "We're in for a surprise". It's all a big speculation ha! I bet PMDG are loving seeing us guess like this. But still you, me and everyone else is entitled to their own opinions :)

Well again, they said the 737 was going to be built with JS41 technology then they figured out a better way of doing it and re-wrote a bunch of stuff. The only good thing is, with RSR and the rest of the team being so hush hush, I would assume whenever they do come out of hiding, they will have something legit to say about the T7, DC-6, or whatever else they are working on. Who knows, they could be doing mass misdirection and come out and release an Airbus next week...(please, let's not get off topic about that. I'm just throwing stuff out there to make a point). What we can be sure of is, we will know when we know.

Hi, I know a ton about this aircraft and is one of my favorites, can I be a beat tester for this?

You'd have a better chance of being hired at a major airline than testing the T7.

They only want pilots or A&P mechanics who work on the plane as they are in the best position to test and compare it to the RW.

I'm pretty sure they are doing it for their own entertainment lol

Confirmed they will model both GE90-110B1L & GE90-115B1L.
