May 2, 201214 yr I have GSX and AES, but lately I've been only using GSX. However, though most of you seem to favor GSX, I am noticing that it is a little too repetitve and does the same thing at every airport. AES seems to adapt itself to each individual airport more. Also AES seems to provide more moving gates whereas GSX more often than not will just stick stairs right through a static gate. I was wondering if any of you might share some of your own observations. I do like GSX a lot. It looks great. Perhaps I am missing something in my set up? It's more fun to discuss these things at this forum where you get more open and varied opinions. Lee Lee H i9 13900KF 64GB Ram 24GB RTX 4090
May 2, 201214 yr Yes I very much so agree with you. I don't have AES, never have. But I have GSX and I too have found myself finding it repetetive and thus I become bored of it and end up either forgetting to use it or I chose not to.
May 2, 201214 yr I see it as a service that is performed for me at each airport, not really meant to be entertainment in its own right. Have to say I love it and wouldn't like to fly iron without it now!
May 2, 201214 yr You have to move the Jetways yourself with GSX or it will put stair up for you. Ron Hamilton "95% is half the truth, but most of it is lies, but if you read half of what is written, you'll be okay." __ Honey Boo Boo's Mom
May 2, 201214 yr Author Okay, I see. It will help knowing in advance if a particular scenery has moving jetways. Thanks for the tip. :ee Lee H i9 13900KF 64GB Ram 24GB RTX 4090
May 2, 201214 yr Moderator I pretty much just use GSX for push back and for the marshaller when I arrive for parking guidance. The rest of the features I dont use very often, mainly just because I dont want to take the time to use them unless I am taking screen shots. Overall though its a great addon and I am glad to have spent the money if for nothing more than a push and parking tool. Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
May 2, 201214 yr Lee, GSX does have an airport editor, so you can disable the front stairs. Also I use GSX with AES and works a treat. AES for the Jetway, fuel truck and marshaller for taxing in. That gives the variety. When it is time to depart, I select F6 & F2 and the AES marshaller removes the chocks and the jetway is removed, and then GSX takes over for the pushback. One thing GSX does not do on arrival is put the chocks in, but AES does so have that function as well. And it all works well with FS2 Crew. Note: AES has just been updated to 2.22 System: MSFS2024, ASUS Rog Stryx Z790-A, Intel i9-14900KF, Asus ROG Ryujin III 360 , Asus Hyperion Case,Rog Stryx 4090 OC, Samsung 970 EVO M.2 SSD, 1Tb Samsung 860 EVO SSD,64Gb G Skill Memory, Asus Aura 1200W Gold PSU,Win 11 ,LG C4 48" 4K OLED Screen., Airbus TCA Full Kit, Stream Deck XL. May 3, 201214 yr I also use GSX mostly for the follow-me/marshaller/pushback feature and leave the rest be. It's just way better having GSX taking me to my assigned gate on every airport than carefully listen to the taxi instructions of ATC and still having to use the yellow arrows. Florian
May 3, 201214 yr Well of course, GSX works on all airports where AES is made specifically for an airport. Of course it'll be more specific John doe
May 3, 201214 yr I do have both, AES and GSx ( I got GSX because I mostly fly in the US and don´t have that much addon airports yet.) but the only thing I don´t really like with GSX is that the vioce is computerized. AES is much better on this (Their vioces do have an regional touch.) and GSX allways sounds the same. But I think that the guys from FSDT will improove GSX further. So just let´s look and see with what they´ll come up. Best regards, Steffen Fight time: NGX 737-700: 37,0h; -800: 47,2h
