May 7, 201214 yr Great topic :) and interesting that there appears to be a convergance of Kiwis and Beer .. LOL For me I usually have a bourbon and cola, and by usually I mean .. always .. LOL Well yeah, I have to say I am more of a red wine or spirits man - and yes a bourbon (Wild Turkey for me) and coke is always welcome, as is a dark rum and coke. I also like a nice whisky and ginger in the winter. Still - there is something about living here that inspires more beer drinking - especially in the summer. Cheers! Iain
May 7, 201214 yr Oh dear, let's not go there The Yokes store in the next town used to stock "Kulmbacher" and every time I went through I'd stop & get one. They came in a brown bottle with one of those flip top porcelain lids like a Grolsch. It was a true German pilsner, best beer I ever drank. They stopped stocking them years ago, I quit drinking years ago (more or less). I still pick up one Newcastle Brown Ale at the grocery store every few months. Also enjoy an Alaskan Amber Ale every once in a while with a good grilled burger or something. Ever had an "Arrogant B*stard", lol? You can't not order a beer with a name like that when the waitress reads through the list Jim I love all those except for the Alaskan Amber. For some reason to me it seems a little off from a true amber. Next time I am on the mainland I will have to try it again because I love amber beers. Chris Miller
May 7, 201214 yr Favorite summer beer (now retired :( ): Terrapin Sunray. Terrapin also brews the "Hopsicutioner", my "go to" beer at the local pizzeria. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules

May 8, 201214 yr AH HA! My type of post. Stella man, plus radio 4( I am of course an intellectual ) for interesting stuff at cruise alt. PS word of warning !!! Special Brew!!!! This particular beverage if partaken of rather to enthusiastically CAN lead to complete collapse of landing gear /mountain side close inspections/ much eating of mud, water ,cod and carp ,airport terminal buildings and towers can also be subject to visitations from wild eyed pilots singing 'OH for the wings of a dove' whilst waving there joysticks in the air (euphemism alert) and trying to land 747s at three hundred and eighty miles an hour with no flaps/gear ,fuel etc etc YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!! Captain quaffer or Andy as I am occasionally known

May 9, 201214 yr Ever had an "Arrogant B*stard", lol? You can't not order a beer with a name like that when the waitress reads through the list Yessssss! That's one of the brews on tap at the Jolly Drayman, a British-syle pub in Bethel, Maine. It stands up well to the heartiest of meals.
May 9, 201214 yr How dare i not mention a nice refreshing Vodka + Coke (how could i not with one sat here beside me as im approaching 26L EGKK!) Hmm. Vodka & coke? Only way to drink vodka is a generous helping in a big glass with lashings of ice and a twist of lemon. Rum's OK with coke though.. :drinks: (Good thread, BTW)

That's right, my weapon of choice is whiskey. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
