Anyone deal with simaddons?

Featured Replies

I have been thinking about buying some of their products and I run Orbx everywhere in NA. I do not see a support forum. Does anyone have any experience with these people? How is their support, products, etc.? Not too into sending the email link w/n 24 hours thing.

Thanks!

Marc Lynn

I have many of Ralph's (SimAddons) products. You must buy a product before you can get access to the support forums. He is a one man band. Buy a product and you will get the link to his support forums.

Ralph is located in Switzerland. Other than timezone issues he is very good at providing support.

I bought the east coast products, you need Halifax and its object library package, and then you can add all the other airports you want. I have all the British Columbia airports and they are designed to be compatible withe Orb scenery. Good buys are Kelowna, Castlegar and Prince George.

Thanks allot, I was looking into Prince George and I have Orbx. Worth it and would not mind going to Halifax occasionally either.

Oh by the way, you get the airport and also high rez photo area surrounding the airport. You can turn the airphoto area on or off depending upon your preference. I personally like the blending with Orbx in Prince George so I turn off the high rez in that area but leave it on for Kelowna and Castlegar - which I think is better.

Thumbs up also for Ralph's Winnipeg and (still in beta) Calgary. I'm a big fan of the active de-icing pads.

is the Halifax City in the full package worth it? Or should I just stick with the Lite?

I only fly to major airports

Best Regards,

Hello Yvan:

Since I live in the area, and have the scenery, I can confirm that Halifax City scenery is very exact, even down to the color of the buildings. It certainly makes Halifax "as real as it gets".  Having said that, if you fly airliners, Halifax International Airport is far enough away from the city that you will not really see any of the city landing there, so it might be a waste of money.  If you fly slow and low or want to get a good idea of what Halifax really looks like, it is WELL worth the money.

Im doing CYYC BETA right now and he's doing an awesome job.

So tell us what's it look like, does it have a 14000 ft runway?

It has the CYYC plans for 2014, like the runway, terminal, taxiways all of that stuff. Its awesome he did a good job and its FPS friendly.

Any idea when it will be out and is it Orbx friendly. I don't buy airports but I would make an exception for CYYC.

You wont go wrong with Ralph's scenery. Good creations, no OOMs. I'm quite satisfied.

I have most of his stuff and it's great. Haven't needed support for the scenery but needed my password for the forums and had it within hours despite the time change. Certainly has my vote.

I dont like how they charge you too get the longer runway at YHZ. But otherwise it's good.
