Airliner DVDs

Featured Replies

Which Just Planes Airliner DVDs would simmers here recommend?

Reason I ask is because a flight simulation reseller is offering a range of Airliner DVDs such as Air Canada 777-200LR, Air Canada 777-300ER,Air Canada 767-300ER, Air Austral B777 and B737, Air Atlanta 747-400, etc,etc among others. Buy 2 and get a 20% discount.

So, any suggestions based on having viewed or having owned one of these Just Planes Airliner DVDs most welcome. Thank you.

Thanks for that, Blawrence. Sadly, this reseller is only selling Just Plane DVDs---these you have linked to here are from World Air Routes, two different outfits.

Rick Almeida

I think a lot of these DVDs from World Air Routes are actually just redistributed Just Planes DVDs. Personally I like the

Air Canada 777-300ER (Toronto - Tokio, Tokio - Toronto, Toronto - Frankfurt )

http://www.worldairr...rCanada777.html

Iberia 340-600 (Madrid - Lima, Lima - Madrid)

http://www.worldairr.../Iberia346.html

South African Airlines 340-600 (Joburg - Frankfurt, Toulouse - Joburg) (This one is a bit different, contains a delivery flight from the airbus factory)

I know the links links to World Air Routes, but the DVDs are from Just Planes, just search for 'just planes' on the webpages

You can't go wrong with the Air Canada DVD's. the crews do a great job of explaining the aircraft systems. Any of the 777's are really good. If you want a lot of NG action, I just finished watching the GOL DVD. There must be at least 20 segments in that DVD.

Are there any HD movies out there? I know about all these old(er) Just Planes, those are all DVD quality, but I was wondering about something higher... bluray or so.

bluray or so.

Hi Srdan, There is in fact an Air Canada 777-200LR Polar Operations Blu-Ray DVD offered.

just finished watching the GOL DVD

And a GOL 737-700 and -800 too included in that seller's offer.

To others, thanks for the suggestions.

@egguzman, those US offers are in fact cheaper than the Just Plane offers. I wonder what the p+p would add were I to order them from there?

Rick Almeida

Ahh, thanks, that looks cool. See if I can order it...

These guys make some fantastic HD in-cockpit vids. Only discovered them last week

They're in german but with English subtitles - not much of an issue as most of the ATC communication is obviously in English. The video quality is fabulous. Great multi-camera shots and some really nice deep house music in the background which isn't at all intrusive (imo) unlike the lift/elevator library music found on many other videos which gives me a headache..

ITVV also produce excellent in-cockpit videos

I love the World Air Routes series but they're very "rough and ready" compared to Pilotseye or ITVV productions. I wish they'd invest in an HD camera and hire someone who can edit video properly!

Regards

Adam

Wow, that Pilotseye stuff looks great! Thanks.

One of the DVDs on offer is in fact an itvv.com Virgin Atlantic flight

Rick Almeida

The itvv Virgin Atlantic dvd is really good.

(The pilotseye blu-ray discs are also really good.)

I would recommend the Air Atlanta 747-400 and AC 777LR as for other DVDs from worldairroutes/Justplanes I would recommend Air Canada A330, E190 and A319/321. I would also suggest Swiss A340 (Zurich to San francisco), Iberia A340-600, A340-300 and A320/321.
