May 24, 201214 yr The F4U Corsair is one of my favorite planes. Probably from watching "Baa Baa Black Sheep" back as a teen. Had to google it to confirm when it was on (76-78). Hard to believe it was that long ago. Will probably buy it, w/wo VC.

May 24, 201214 yr the F-4 Phantom is not a beautiful plane. You think so, Ray? I love it! Those cambered, delta wings,,The downward drooping "stablilators"..I loved it back then and I still love it! (each to their own) Now, an F4 for FLIGHT would be great! JAKE EYREIt's a small step from the sublime to the ridiculous...Napoleon Bonaparte
May 24, 201214 yr Yeah, I love the phantom too! Simmo W, Melbourne, Ozhttp://www.youtube.com/user/id5556

Hank is a friend of a friend, but even I don't get much in the way of freebies, other than an autographed calendar every year.)

May 24, 201214 yr Sunrise mountian in the background, has to be Nellis AFB, home of the Thundebirds. I was stationed there in 1968-9. Lots of activity with RED FLAG F-5's.
May 25, 201214 yr F4U confirmed... https://news.microsoftflight.com/blogs/post.aspx?App=news&y=2012&m=05&d=25&PostName=coming-soon-the-f4u-corsair&wa=wsignin1.0
May 25, 201214 yr So be it, then. Daddy flew this plane so I guess I'm in for this one only. By the absence of a further announcement of a virtual cockpit, I'm going to assume I get to fly from outside. Thanks for the heads up, Ray.
May 25, 201214 yr They seemed to have left out just an itty bitty piece of info though......normally know what that means though...
May 25, 201214 yr A VC is something they would have definitely mentioned if it had one, for the positive PR effect. Silence on that topic at least delays the next flood of negative comments for a few days.
May 25, 201214 yr I'm going to assume I get to fly from outside Not necessarily! There's allways that PAN and reposotion of the eyepoint, and the Camera View... May 25, 201214 yr Since I already have the P51 I will pass on this one. Had I known the F4U was in the works I would have waited. The F4U has the highest initial climb rate of all the warbirds in Flight. Take off is a bit dicey.... not bad if you don't use full power though.
May 25, 201214 yr Moderator Bah... lead sled. Give me a nice nimble F-5 any day. Tell 'ya what... Head out of Nellis over to Student Gap. I'm coming out of NAS Fallon with my boys, and we'll go ACM 2 v 1... 10K hard deck, high right on the merge goes right.
