Or more properly, another patch has been released, not another fix; fix implies that it fixed stuff, and in my experience, I'm sorry to say that none of the previous patches have 'fixed' very much at all as far as functionality is concerned!

 

Anyway, here we go again. I'll give this one a whirl, but my patience is wearing fairly thin with Pro ATC.

 

And on the subject of patching, does anyone know if the Black Box A320 is now sorted?

Well, it was an observation I made a few pages back on this thread that it resembled that format. Actually, I don't mind that if it is done well, Pro Flight basically did that too, and I have very fond memories of Pro Flight in FS98, it was really excellent.

Maddog and Bob...I don't want to hijack this into a which is better. I actually own RC4, VoxATC and PFE. I don't disagree with your opinions in anyway. In a perfect world they would all join together and produce a great product that works for us all. I know...."Just a Dream" :Thinking:

Fred, did you have a successful flight with pro-atc yet ? I still haven't heard of anyone who was able to complete a flight with proatc.

another patch has been released, not another fix

 

I just finished trying out the new 'patch' and nothing was 'fixed'. Still silent commo after last waypoint (and where clearance is suppose to come in and provide landing guidance). I did get more interaction between ATC and the co-pilot but around the last waypoint to my KSFO destination, ATC stopped. When I 'checked in' some time past the last waypoint with ATC, the co-pilot reported our position and stated 'on approach with clearance vectors'. So I was expecting some vectors from clearance but clearance never came on to give us clearance and I flew at FL240 over KSFO. At KSFO, the aircraft began circling the airport. I did have more background ATC though. That's the only improvement if there was improvement. Waiting for next 'patch'...

Well, just goes to show that you never can tell; Germany getting hammered by Italy! Still my bet is still safe on Spain for the win in the final, although with what Italy showed tonight, it ain't looking like it will be a walkover for the Spaniards.

I have been re-testing and retesting with every patch and I'm not getting anywhere with this program. Any of you asked for a refund yet ? I'm thinking about it even I'd rather have a working proatc instead.

Someone did on their forum and no response to it when I last looked. I seriously doubt there will be any refunds. I think the only one that provides refunds is Flight One. I'm not looking for a refund. We are still very early in our customer 'beta testing' that you and I and others have been providing and I think there will be a resolution to these problems and maybe even some improvements in the near future. I know PMDG does a heck of a lot of testing before they release their products and sometimes for several months. I hope you hang in there!

Well, there's probably little chance of getting a refund, laws being what they are, and in particular where software is concerned. For example, in the UK, the Sale of Goods and Services Act, which basically says that 'goods have to be of merchantable quality' does not apply to software that is downloaded, and you'll find that kind of thing is true for most countries, which generally have a similar kind of statute, although some credit card sales are insured against that kind of thing, which might be an avenue to explore if you really want a refund desperately badly.

 

Personally, I'm not looking for a refund, since it was a bit of a punt in the first place in buying it, albeit a rather pricey one, what I'm really looking for, is a patch which sorts it out, because if we get one of those, I'll be fairly happy with the product, since if it did what it is supposed to do, I'd really like it a lot.

 

If the developer wants more than a few sales though, it is in his interest to sort it out of course, since this forum thread has not exactly proved to be a brilliant advert for the thing. However, if it subsequently lights up with numerous posts saying 'it works flawlessly now' at some point in the future, that would change.

I don't know about merchantability and refund chances, but when someone says "Complete air traffic control" , that is really biting off quite a bit. It is far from that at this point. I too will wait. I know they are working but I will stress again about the importance of a good design and not find yourself locked into a corner. I hope this is not the case.

Simming is a lot of fun but when I end up restarting fsx after 10-15 mins every time I use proatc it gets depressing :(

Yesterday Boutabba sent me a new patch (unofficial patch)to test.I tested it on the same route LPFR-LPPT. Unlike other times this one time FSX did not crash but Approach went silent when I was like 80 miles out.Yes again.
