June 25, 201213 yr EZDoc is a bit of a pain to set up. It's one of those "Infinite combinations" programs. I didn't have a problem. Once I got it set up I added 4 views. Took a few minutes. I add a new camera from time to time. Cockpit cameras and aircraft cameras only take a moment. World cameras can take longer depending on what you're doing. I actually set up a camera on the side of a hill in California just for grins. A nice place to 'sit'. LOL. I guess if there is a 'pill' to it it's that you have to set up views in each and every aircraft. But, again, only takes a minute or two depending on how much you want to tinker. There's also the infinite number of camera shake things but that's not why I got it so I usually just turn it down very low and mostly forget about it. June 25, 201213 yr Gregg; Agreed.. I have all the shaking set up with each plane.. Tweaking each takes allot of time until it seems "right"... added to the mix is two different sets for ground and air, and three shake generators for different views/cameras, etc. Combined with TrackIR, I could never go back to stoic flying again.
June 25, 201213 yr Seems to me we should have a repository for different EZdok camera Set files huh? I mean if you take time to set up a certain 747, and I take time to set up the L39 Albatross, one would think it would be a great help to others if we made those files available as a baseline for someone to start with? I wonder if there is a place in teh AVSim library for such a collection of files. Certainly we would each have different purposes or focuses and preferences, but pulling down 3 or 4 EZDok Camera Set files when you get a new plane would be a quick start to getting set up. June 25, 201213 yr Personally, I think the hardest part is disabling all those view keys in FSX. LOL. There's a new version of EZDok (2.0) coming out soon. Perhaps it'll be something that can be done with that version. I understand that they're making some fundamental changes. Gregg Seipp "A good landing is when you can walk away from the airplane. June 25, 201213 yr Nope - Marniftarr says any order, but I do start TIR first, using Alacrity, then a choice menu to start FSX, which automatically starts EZCA. Great, my trackir is always running hidden in the task bar on windows startup because every sim uses it theres no point ever not having it running. Maybe I'll give ezdok a try. I mainly want it for the realism feeling from the camera shaking and g force movements. How are these effects are they good? Do the effects still work when trackir is on?
June 25, 201213 yr There's a new version of EZDok (2.0) coming out soon. What's your definition of "soon"? v2 has been 'coming soon' for a hell of long time;-) Windows 10 (x64) - X-Plane 11 - M/B: Asus ROG Maximus IX Hero - CPU: i7 7700k (@5.0GHz) - RAM: 32Gb Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 @ 3200MHz - Video: GTX1080ti - Cooling: Custom water loop (EK 140 Revo D5 pump/res combo, EK EVO CPU block, EK XE360 Rad)
June 25, 201213 yr "What's so bad about using TrackIR? This experience puts one as close as you can get to the real thing. You move your head and look exactly The price would be the problem here" True, but that is your solution. I like the TrackiR + Exdok + a second monitor for FSX. June 25, 201213 yr What's your definition of "soon"? v2 has been 'coming soon' for a hell of long time;-) I read somewhere that he's committed to having it out this summer. You can check out the flight1 forums for updates. Gregg Seipp "A good landing is when you can walk away from the airplane. A great landing is when you can reuse it." i9 64GB RAM, GTX-5090
June 25, 201213 yr Author Ezdok is, as stated above, a REAL game changer. Almost as much so as FSUIPC. I have discovered one thing in the product description that concerns me and that is "Hardware capable to maintain over 20 FPS in FSX" And true is I frequently have fps in the 10s. Will that result in some particulary problems? I read somewhere that he's committed to having it out this summer. You can check out the flight1 forums for updates. Will that be free upgrade for current users? It's this sommer now. How likely is it to happen this time?
June 25, 201213 yr Will that be free upgrade for current users? It's this sommer now. How likely is it to happen this time? I think it depends on what version you have. Haven't seen anything I'd call definitive. Gregg Seipp "A good landing is when you can walk away from the airplane. A great landing is when you can reuse it." i9 64GB RAM, GTX-5090
June 25, 201213 yr In EZDOK you can simulate TrackIR motions using the mouse Just hold down the middle mouse button and you can view around the cockpit very smoothly. You can even set it up to do it without middle clicking, although that can make it difficult at times setting controls. As been said EZDOK is a must for FSX. As also said, it could be a pain to setup, because of all it's capabilities, and the technical terminology used in the GUI, once done though it's well worth it!! June 25, 201213 yr I think it depends on what version you have. Haven't seen anything I'd call definitive. I seen this in PMDG General Forum: " Posted 23 March 2011 - 06:19 PM Hey Rick you might want to hold off on the purchase of ezca, there making a 2.0 version, its not a free update so you might aswell wait out a bit." June 25, 201213 yr Well, I took a harder look at the thread on EZDoc over at Flight1. It appears that the developer is out of commission...some rumours about health but who knows. So, I wouldn't hold my breath and, if you need support, you'll have to get it from the community. The only thing you can hope is that he returns to the project and/or someone develops a new application that measures up. Here's the significant entry from flight1... Arnoube, from what I gathered reading the previous messages this is a one-man-band project lead by Oleg (Marniftarr) Oleg unfortunately seems to have some health problems. Obviously the priority is to have him recover fully. EZCA 2.0 should have been released several months ago and initally it was not meant to be free for existing EZCA users. However on the 13th October 2011 Oleg wrote on this topic saying that it will be a free upgrade whenever it gets released. Marniftarr wrote: The v2 will be free. you can purchase 1.17 now and have free upgrade to 2.0 in future. Gregg Seipp "A good landing is when you can walk away from the airplane. June 26, 201213 yr Indeed! I have uploaded a Carenado set here, but can't remember if it was the C90 or the B58. With more of us using EZDok, it would be a nice touch if the manufactures included cam and effects files with their planes. Maybe it would be good enough if we had a forum section for EZDok, and folks could post links to their doc files, either outside, or in the lib.
