July 6, 201213 yr What do you guys/gals think of this great news? Carenado announced the start of new projects developed for FS2004. Due to numerous posts and emails from customers claiming they have been left abandoned in FS9, Carenado invested in a new technique which allows porting some FSX developed aircraft. :yahoo: :drinks:
July 6, 201213 yr On the strength of the Seneca (my only Carenado product so far) I think I'll probably be adding the Bonanza to my collection when it's released. I'll be looking forward to subsequent offerings too- it will be interesting to see what they choose to adapt.
July 6, 201213 yr That would be brilliant as IMHO Carenado produce the best quality general aviation addons.. I have all their FS9 products and have been very pleased with their quality and their favourable FPS rates, particularly with their later releases. I bought their King Air and Cessna 337 for FSX and would be interested in these if they produced them for FS9. What I would really love to see them develop would be a Piper Aztec, one of the most prolific light twins of the 60s and 70s but sadly one which has been ignored by every commercial developer. Anyway, great news overall and hopefully enough FS9 users will purchase these to encourage Carenado to continue. Bill
July 6, 201213 yr I hope some other developers will be curious about this new "technique" and figure out how to do this. It seems like a win-win to me - they can make money selling the same product they have already developed for FSX to a smaller but dedicated community of people

Do they have anything but Cessna? I love GA but I only fly Cessna for learning VOR nav. If they want to make more money. leaving fs9 is not a good idea IMO. FS9 is different from FS2002, moving from fs2002 to fs2004 was somehow, in ways, a lot easier in every aspects (including hardware requirements) whereas moving from FS9 to FSX takes a lot more.. Since been using i5 2500K @stock clock speed+Turbo on (I wish you luck Rafal :D )and 9800GT for a month, I can only run FSX with 30-40FPS (would jump to 60-90 but causing serious pauses and stutters) with all sliders to almost max.. everything is plain and default including the aircraft. Now how would it be in major hubs with complex aircraft? Cheers
July 6, 201213 yr Cheese on bread!...this is great news! ...... I was getting more and more depressed as Carenado crept towards the TBM 700/800. Certainly I will buy an updated V35B at the drop of a hat .....they have lot's of FSX products I am interested in but in FSX I am not. My FS Videos
July 6, 201213 yr Hear, hear also. I have a feeling that more Developers will follow after this announcement from Carenado.
July 6, 201213 yr FSX to Fs9? You know guys...first thought came to my mind was the PMDG 777 a long way and long story, I know..... Actually, this is Carenado's technique so seeing it in other developers will surely be rare. Just like the polygons thing, there has been a way to go over "the limit" in Fs9. But still many developers out there don't use this technique and still "we are at limit polygons, can't go further..." /Thanks for the news. QW 787 might also come to fs9 depending on their BAE Avro 146 sales.
July 6, 201213 yr This is great to hear. Would be nice if this is the start of a new trend. We can hope anyway!! Regards, Joe Esposito
July 6, 201213 yr The cynic in me suggests that the addon market is slow ... how do we increase sales 10% -15%. Easy - lets port some leftovers to those ravenous FS9 users who we discarded several years ago. Tough  Yes, but I'm not biting. :t0152: :t0116:
