August 17, 201213 yr Well I stepped in at 5.1, so might missed that, and didnt need much books. We had Mel Ott, aka, Captain Tarmack (RIP) an retired 747 captain who tedious answered all sorts of questions. I still have a lot of them zipped. Wanna see ? Ever been there Jan ?
August 17, 201213 yr Hey Jeroen, I hope that's all clear now. B) Groeten, Jan I sure do now! Great post!
August 17, 201213 yr Author Johan, Extremely sorry to hear about Mel Ott's passing... He happend to be the first person that i got a comment from regarding my first ever FS file that i uploaded. I believe we were still on Compuserve, no internet yet.. It was a new sound file that i created for the first DC-3 to appear in FS ( thru BAO's Flight Shop ). He loved my new sound file and i shall never forget the last line that he wrote : " I love flying the DC-3 in FS, i can always fly the 747 at work. " RIP Mel, i shall never forget you. And, no, i never visited Graceland but i love Elvis, the 'Heartbeak Hotel' upto and including 'Return To Sender' Elvis, to be exact. Re FS books, personally i dearly miss books like '40 Great Flight Simulator Adventures' and '40 More Great Flight Simulator Adventures' by Charlie Gulick. They made up for the lack of scenery in FS4 and FS5 but that doesn't mean that books like that wouldn't be a wonderful addition nowadays to make GA flying more interesting and fun in FSX. cheers, jan Jan
August 18, 201213 yr Aaaagh! That picture of Graceland triggered my PTSD from growing up in Memphis. My first apartment on my own was a couple of blocks away from there, and twice a year - at Elvis's birthday and his "death week", our whole part of town was so overrun with tourists that it was practically gridlocked. We started planning vacations for those weeks, much the same as Londoners plotted to get out of town for the recent Olympics.

I need to dig them out when I'm back.
