Can we have an honest comparison of the BAe-146 from CLS and QW for FSX?

Featured Replies

Take a close look at the VC in the Carenado C90B. I was looking at it last night and thinking to myself...."wow, this is absolutely unbelievable how real this looks...this is better than the PMDG 737".

I'm not trying to compare products here but that came to my mind. The Malibu is not as good although it came out after the C90B.

Philip, I do not understand your comment to be honest... Isn't this thread about the QW RJ70/85/100 versus JF146?

Either way, the C90B was released after the P46T Malibu... of course, any opinion on quality of a product can appear subjective, but the NGX is way better in my mind than the C90B... The Carenado isn't bad (I have it myself, though I removed it from my system in a clearout, as I do not fly it, preferring the Realair Duke Turbine and PMDG JS41 for twin prop simulations and waiting for the Majestic Dash8 Q400), but the NGX is in another league in so many ways...

From the screenshots and videos on YT that have been published so far, the QW RJ does not need to hide...

Although, isn't the NGX almost $25 more than the QW bird? When a product is 50% higher price I honestly expect it to be better.

I bought both. I like them both. What I find really important is what the gear strud does on touchdown. The QW is realistic and the JF one moves too fast and deep on impact. Hope they will adjust that. JF gives me higher frame rates. QW VC is very nice and to me nicer than NGX. NGX dimensions are wrong.

I've been flying since the days of the commodore. I simply don't see why folks should complain about having two fine planes instead of one. As for me, I've been enjoying the Just flight 146 since day one. I have no plans to purchase the QW model until I tire of the JF, which is inevitable, since we all get tired of the same plane after a while.

As I see it, two are better than one. It's a hobby, and I've purchased many very good planes that are now sitting in the hanger gathering dust. tc

I don't understand why people are asking about QW Avro & PMDG NGX comparisons. Two different aircraft, different pricing. QW Avro does'nt claim to be 100% accurate systems model. Just look at there motto, Complexity...Simplified. This is not what PMDG abide by. As for the textures, seems good to me and good on the frames too.

JF model is the better comparison if there has to be one.

BAE 146 & Avro RJ are very welcome to FSX and its good to have two versions now available.

Kind Regards

Simon.

Hi again,

I really like the CLS variant but I hope they release a patch soon for the known issues, in the meantime does any of you improved the aircraft.cfg for better flight dynamics?

Thanks,

Alexander Colka

You can go into the aircraft.cfg and change the ailerons and rudder effectiveness to your liking. That's about it. As for the rest, I think it's a hell of a good flyer. JF did indicate that they wait 4 weeks before they put out an SP version, once they've had feedback from users.

Hi,

Well I tried out that before with only more sensitivity to the controls response but the feeling of the slow turnings remains, it just feels strange. Anyway I just purchasaed the QW variant and the feeling is another world not to say the model itself, way better product.
