Flights now defunct future

Featured Replies

Now that the demise if MS Flight has come and gone, has there been any information out of the Flight studios about what was originally planned for the program in the short and long term? A road map if you will of what scenery areas were considered, aircraft that were planned? What new software features were in the works? Was there any thought on aircraft to complete the achievements for speed, altitude, distance, cargo and passengers?

I'm just interested to know what direction Flight was intended, and what we will miss out on. The cancellation of Flight reminds me of the demise Canada's Avro Arrow program.

Just like the Avro Arrow, cancelled before it's time. I don't think we will ever hear anything from Microsoft about what happened to Flight. Those that do know are like under a penalty of death to talk about it before there NDC times out.

So maybe some day.

It lived, it thrived, it's heart stopped and then it died. With it's eyes wide open and a look of horror on it's face. Pretty hard to question a corpse about what it intended to do with it's existence before it was killed.

Well the beta forums are no longer available, so there is something fishy going on... Maybe it's for real, maybe it's not.

I just logged into the beta forum no problem, there were posts from yesterday, so they don't seem dead.....yet.

...How come I can't access???

It didn't work for me a week ago. How come it does now???

Talking about beta, it seems that Soliceste & Loki (I just presume) are working on some patched version of Flight... Seem on Steam here

This doesn't mean it will be a public beta, however. It may just be so Loki and Solicest can work on the program and do as stated, correct some long standing problems.

We'll just have to wait and see since it's a bit early to speculate. Interesting they would post this though.

Thank you.

Probably just getting it plug in ready for third party developer addons.

Or Windows 8 was the problem to why they stopped Flight development.

Not going to happen. Live is deeply integrated into Flight and its locked down tight.

Just seen an interesting post on the beta sight and really don't know what to make of it?

Yeah. Best to just wait and see, though.
