Aerosoft Navdatapro released

Featured Replies

At Aerosoft's website is below statements: Does this mean we have to buy it every year?

this package includes:

  • Yearly subscription including 13 updates:
    • Duration: 1 year beginning with the first download
    • Content: 13 Navdata Cycle

This shouldn't be a big deal since you pay almost the same for Navigraph.

Most charts can be found online for free........

I believe that many of the charts that you find for free, online, would not be updated to the nav data that you are subscribing to through Aerosoft or Navigraph.

What is free is not worth anything .... (joking of course) some places in the world it is free and some (many) others it is not or (very) difficult to find.

Again: There are situations when having a printed chart when doing a departure or arrival is indispensable. For me that is still a no go.

I have and use Aivlasoft but it is not the same thing as being able to browse through the charts before doing a departure or arrival. I do not have the possiblity to really use it as an EFB is supposed to be used (in cockpit) and then it becomes problematic. Apart from that it tends to crash quite frequently lately and then I really prefer to have the option look at NAVDAC.

Hmm, I browse all my sids and stars prior to actually doing them using EFB without a problem, and I've never had Aivlasoft crash on me. It's probably my most stable add-on. Indeed every situation is different though.

If I already have Navigraph installed, can I install Aerosoft over it ? Will it erase all Navigraph datas and replace it with Aerosoft ?

If not, that means that we can have airports covered by Navigraph and airports covered by Aerosoft, so a bigger coverage if both are installed.

I believe it's either one or the other not both.

Hi, there is a backup created of the navigraph datas.

Regarding Coverage: The LIDO Database has much more airports (6000 vs. 3000).

The airway charts can be viewed on Skyvector.com, but Navigraph has the corner on updated airport diagrams for FS. I just find it frustrating that many airports are missing from their database.

Obviously on-line chart access varies depending on what part of the world you're flying in, but this is certainly not the case for the US as there are many online and third party sources for current approach plates and airport diagrams. See, for example, Airnav, where you can link to current US approach procedures, airport diagrams, AFD etc.

I see Flight 1's products listed as working - Does anyone know if this product updates LPV/WAAS approaches in, say, the Flight 1 Mustang? I'd love to have a way to get Canadian LPV approaches in, but I have a hunch the same limitation exists here as it does for the Navigraph data.
