AS2012+REXE+NGX= heaven

Recommended Posts

HI peter! Are you able to get the winds aloft data for flying with the NGX in opus? The screnies look brilliant!

As promised this beta version incorporates the initial release of the FSX winds aloft bug fix. This fix does not effect the detailed and varied weather patterns, we have not had to resort to using unrealistic global weather. We have eradicated the FSX winds aloft bug using nothing more than a wind stabilization technique combined with our detailed weather control. The wind stabilization comes into force as soon as you climb above the adjustable transition altitude, automatic recovery is enabled when you descend below the configured recovery level. Full recovery will only occur when the true wind direction is within 30 degrees of the stabilized wind. As far as I can tell there is no downside, the LWE simply has to force a weather regeneration as you pass though the transition and recovery levels.

The transition and recovery altitudes can be adjusted via the Weather dialog. However, the default settings of 19000 feet and 17000 feet should be perfectly adequate on virtually all systems.

I also was thinking about Opus, but wanted to wait for the REXE Update, which they advertise as having Opus like performance (un-named) on weather gen. EZDok has my blood, sweat, and tears from setting up all those cameras/effects on millions of planes (feels that way anyhow, LOL). In the name of all that is holy, please don't make me learn another head movement program!

I still like the Opus idea, but I fear they are starting to ask the program to do too much. Just stick with the weather man.

I tried out the GSX demo, it is good, but not worth the $40 price. Perhaps when it falls I will consider purchasing it.

Good grief, cannot believe I forgot that one Pete.

Yes, feels more realistic to me. According to the author DHM is calculated from the winds.

Also verified by RW pilots that the DHM is very realistic.

I am waiting for the networked version of the Opus camera software so I can implement camera changes while in full screen more. I am using the Opus weather engine and love it. I now get reported weather.

Enjoyed reading the posts here and will be watching as a user of GEX, REX-E and FS2crew (put that in just for you Peter!).

Have never been convinced by GEX tbh particularly as I am using Shockwave Redux which changes lighting effects, as REX-E does I believe in respect of certain textures.

Will be very keen to find out more about REX-E+.... ***Opens new browser tab to begin research***

***Research done***

I want REX-E+ and I want it now! Bring on the release. Loving the fix list and the add list.... Plus I read that it will be a free update for users. Deep joy. :Applause:
