FSX Realistic Night!

Featured Replies

Try using the Pause/Break key if you are using the P key it won't do anything. Also make sure the files are extracted into the FSX root directory such that the configuration tool executable is in the same directory as FSX.exe.

I've turned AA in the tool off as I haven't had time to experiment with it yet and AA is still being provided by NI. As far as DX10 goes I don't use it so can't comment but as someone said above the file it extracts would suggest it is DX9 only =(.

Oh btw that video wasn't made by me - I happened upon it on Youtube and found the tool through there. Some very spectacular vids have been made with these effects.

I also followed the install instructions precisely, flushed the shaders cache, turned off AA in the tool, but see no change when pressing the pause key..

Same problem here!

It's for nVidia cards and doesn't work with ATI cards.

This is false, as the FXAA injector will look at Direct-X calls, and then run the post-processing. Be it Nvida or ATI.

You gents may actually want to check out the Anti-aliasing that the injecotor comes with. It's pretty much AA with a minimal performance hit.

The recent Fedex MD11 screen shots I posted were running with zero AA through my nvida control panel, using only FXAA.

For the group looking to see Direct-X 10 support, I would suggest using a Subpixel Morphological AA injector. (SMAA) which has a form of MLAA. It's a very fast efficient process.

I firmly believe FXAA and SMAA will lead all other AA methods to eventually be obsolete.

How steady is this program compare to ENB series? My fsx rig and D3d9.dll don't go very well together :(

The default effect seems very strong (although I'm only testing in the daytime so far), and it doesn't seem like you can make configuration adjustments on the fly. Does anyone want to share the their settings for a balanced effect?

Hi Anthony,

I have extensive knowledge of both the FXAA and SMAA injectors/method, you should have no problems stability wise. If you gave me more of a explanation on how they dont go very well together, I would be happy to give you a more definitive answer.

thanks,

Steven

Steve, That's odd then as I downloaded v5 i think it was and although I could run the settings when launching fsx it errored. I can't remember the exact wording of the error message which said something about not being able to find the nVidia drivers?

I remember being a little disappointed as I was keen to see the results. I'll give it another go tomorrow and note down the problem.

My fsx always get CTD when d3d9.dll (Enb series) is present. That's according to event viewer. My test is base on short flight from EGLL to EGLC. It happen when it landed at EGLC.

Hi Darkstar, i'm certain your problem is due to the injector if you had a no-go due to a nvida driver prompt.

There are many universal injectors that have the same config options (in a UI format) as the one posted. If you would like, i'd be happy to find a recent universal injector for you and post the link.

An injector is doing just that "injecting" FXAA per application, it should not be searching for drivers, strange indeed.

Was the error from the FSX application?

Steve, a link would be great as I'm keen to try it. I've used ENB and got my settings for night quite satisfactory. However, I've had some issues which I won't go into here.

And here, also. Absolutely isn't working at all.

Hi Bri, try the following download/version.

During the install you're looking to select the main directory where the d3d.dll is located for the application of your choice. (FSX main dir) The injectors made by "some_dude" are top notch and geared for gaming.

As stated from the description for a few users "You do not need to restart your game every time you want to change a setting. Results can be seen by alt tabbing or minimizing/maximizing the game. (Full screen only)"

Please read the full read-me at the download link before downloading. This is not just a single-game injector, it will work for any d3d9 applications you install it to.
