October 7, 201213 yr Tried to fiddle around with inspector and stuff.. always gave me worse FPS, plus I didn't know what I did there exactly, internal AA worked fine for me, so why not use it? Regards. Matthias Hanel MilViz Beta Team
October 7, 201213 yr Here are some before and after shots. The after shots are a lot more colourful and defined. Its like a brand new graphics update! http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/221/fsx2012100720453735.jpg/
October 7, 201213 yr Which one is more realistic, 1 or 2 ? Both. It depends on season, time of day, weather, filter on lense etc
October 7, 201213 yr Hello, GTX470. Disabling HDR elimated the issue with the colours being washed out. Hi regis9 what video card are you using? Have you altered the colour settings or gamma levels in your video card's control panel at all? From what I've seen so far this program's initial settings are very conservative for daytime. October 7, 201213 yr I completed a night flight last night from Heathrow to Manchester and can confirm that in terms of environmental lighting (sky and ground colour) this is the most realistic light-level I have seen in FS. At no point was I able to see any fields or forests - roads and buildings stood out well of course as one would expect and the lighting looked much better contrasted against a dark ground.. The only other issue was the clouds were a bit too visible but that's a different issue.
October 7, 201213 yr I agree that this thingy provides a much more realistic night light level (at least since the demise of CRT monitors) - less convinced about daytime, different certainly but not sure if it is any better. October 7, 201213 yr Well, I've been tweaking it for the past 2 hours, and I must say I am impressed... it doesn't darken during the day, it provides the glow, it provides a very cool sepia effect - have to be really careful with it, cause it can really make some strong effects. All in all, cool effect, and not as unpredictable as enb. Much easier to tweak too!

Hi Word Not Allowed glad to hear you are getting something out of it - have you found a range of settings that create a realistically lit day that you would be willing to share? I honestly don't have the time to play around with it as much as I would like =(. I agree that this thingy provides a much more realistic night light level (at least since the demise of CRT monitors) - less convinced about daytime, different certainly but not sure if it is any better. Bruceb I think it gives you more options at daytime and if tweaked right can make a sunny day very bright and vibrant - to the point where you can almost feel like you need sunglasses when flying above clouds on a bright day. Also the best thing about it is that altering the strength of the effects doesn't seem to ruin the awesome dark night it creates.
October 7, 201213 yr Hi Can't make this works, I change the inspector setting( ver. 1.996 drvs. 306.23) with the recommended setting, an everytime that I open FSX get an error and shutdown. Any help will be appreciated.. Regards Carlos Durán
October 8, 201213 yr Most awesome post processing. If you want to test my settings, you are welcome. Nothing special though. Feel free to play with the first slider in the bloom settings (disabled preset!), to determine when bloom starts, how much light is needed. Higher the slider, brighter are also day textures. *RENAME THE FILE EXTENSION FROM TXT TO ZIP (I didn't try, but these should be the settings) And some compares:
October 8, 201213 yr Thanks Word Not Allowed - however, perhaps it is my monitor, but I can't see much of a difference in these sceenshots. Bruceb EDIT I take it all back - in game these settings do make a dramatic diffidence! Thanks again Word Not Allowed. Bruceb Bruce Bartlett Frodo: "I wish none of this had happened." October 8, 201213 yr Thanks heaps Word Not Allowed looking forward to trying it. I'm on a poor quality work monitor but I can tell the ones that are PPIT are slightly more defined and the colours stand out much better.
October 8, 201213 yr Both. It depends on season, time of day, weather, filter on lense etc Precisely !! Many might say #1 looks better -- it is CLEARER and Sharper, but that is only an optical illusion. The 2nd One is actually a real work Photo, and the 1st one is Photoshopped, to alter the color balance only ( mainly reduce the UV Blue ) My point being, to try to achieve the "best" results in the Sim, one could be tempted to use a tool like this to make the scene look "better", but not necessarily more "Realistic"
