Same here in IE, FF seems ok.. strange.

This is an automatic message.

This topic has been moved from "MS FSX Forum" to "Help Using the AVSIM Forums". This move has been done for a number of possible reasons.

  • The most likely reason is that the post was off topic.
  • The topic could also have contained images or a video that were not appropriate to the original forum it was posted in.
  • The images might not have been "illustrative" or "explanatory" in nature.
  • The topic could have been moved because we deemed it to be more appropriately placed elsewhere.

Please ensure that your posts are "on topic" and contain illustrative images or videos as appropriate. Do not post videos or images just for entertainment purposes anywhere but in the screen shot or video forums.

Members who continue to post off topic posts can be denied entry to specific forums in order to reduce and remove the practice. Your cooperation is appreciated.

It was posted in the FSX forum because that was where all of the topics were (and still are) labelled "Started by ..."

The forums are working fine. Clear your cache. The "started by" has always been there. The missing topic line is a function of something going wrong with your cache as far as I can tell.

Same here.. never seen this before on the forums till today. Cleared cache as well.

Same for me in IE 8, Firefox is OK.

EDIT: I did delete cookies & cache

Jim

Same problem for me in IE8 since yesterday. Google Chrome is OK. Tried clearing cache, but it doesn't help.

No, the forums are not working fine in IE as evidenced by other posters (and my screenshot).

Did it occur to you that IE might be the problem? Here's my screen shot just take in Chrome:

Notice the times of the posts. I will say it one more time... The forums are working fine.

I also did what was suggested as a fix - however that did not work.. While IE may be the problem I stilll find it odd that all of a sudden this happens -not only to me but other posters too. Other sim forums all display as they should .

Tom -your response in that last message implies that we should not bother you with this as Avsim cannot be the culprit. .

A little strong for simply asking for some help?

Cheers

Still having that problem in E8 here as well

(I do not want to upgrade to E9 suince I really dont like its menu/toolbar layout)

The forum was working fine yesterday and IE hasn't changed. Go figure.

IE8 is IE8, and is not about to change overnight.

Far more likely, is an update/ change to the Forum Software, has broken Compatibility with IE8.

Common problem: what works fine in just about every other browser, often does not work as expected in IE8, ( because MS is MS, and plays by it;s own rules)

These days, getting an advanced, complex website, to render as required, in all Browsers, (including IE, is a frustrating challenge)

The forums are running very slowly and this is what I sometimes see in FF 16 :O
