I PAID OVER $40 FOR THIS!?!?!?!

Opus actually allows you to enhance your windowed views, so you can reshape, or make them and have them set for any number of aircraft, or none at all. I have done this finally with success last night and it is awesome.

I love not having to twiddle around with things anymore, it is just where it needs to be.

This camera setup is so confusing! When I enable the cameras and get them set up what do I do with CAMERA CONTROL setup window? I can't minimize it and if I close it out the cameras don't work. So while running FSX do I have to keep 2 windows open, the FSXserver and camera control window? This is taking a long time to get right. Buy it for the weather!

Hi Philip

I'm no expert, but I did manage to get the cameras working ok without much trouble (previously used EZDOK). I have 4 views set up: Pilot, Co-Pilot, BIG 6 and radiostack. I pressed the Add New Camera button each time, then set the view using the green arrows (checked the Default view box for the Pilot camera) . I then named the camera in the box underneath the Select Camera View button, then set up which joystick button to assign to this view.

Finally I pressed the Save All Cameras button (very important). I then set up the remaining three views in the same way.

Then go to the Select Camera View button. You should see a list of default (737) cameras plus your own. Click on one of these and OK and you should see the Camera Control box displaying what you have set up for that particular camera.

Once all that is done, you can play with DHM etc.

It's very easy to forget to press the Save All Cameras button (especially if you later edit something slightly). I always press it before I close the Camera Control window just to make sure.

So finally to answer you question (lol) you can safely close the Camera Control window and camera views should operate quite normally.

Hope that helps.

Pete

Thanks for the reply but when I close the camera control window there are no longer ANY working cameras.

Have you tried reloading the aircraft (unless you have a shortcut assigned to this feature, it's best to switch to a different plane from the Aircraft menu, then back to your original one)? I remember having to do that when I first applied my custom cameras...

If your camera dialog only lists "All aircraft types" or DHM doesn't work then it could be a permissions issue.

Right click on the your OpusFSX SERVER desktop shortcut icon (C:\OpusFSX\FSXSERVER.EXE) and select Properties, select the Compatibility tab, tick the checkbox to "Run as Administrator". Also set this option for FSXCLIENT.EXE on your optional client PCs.

That screenshot with United NGX, what elevation is it at?

Also, can I get OPUS only for weather? Can I disable cameras?

Drumcode. Yes you can use OPUS for weather only and not even use their cameras. At this point, I'm probably going to stick to EXDOK as I don't see any advantage to using the OPUS cameras and, I can't believe I'm saying this, it's proving to be quite difficult to set up, dare I say even more so than EZ? Not sure yet, I'm still working on the setup nearly a week later. I guess I'll be patient and try to get it working. Is anyone else having a problem with camera set up or am I just slow?

I think it is just so different from EzDok, that is what tripped me up at first also.

Last night I finally made a go at the cameras, and I can say it is actually pretty easy, maybe not as easy as EZDOK. as I already knew how to go that route, but I got it.

You can like the cameras also to all small GA aircraft, or larger ones. I picked my B55 from Milviz to play with and I am quite happy.

It did take a while though for me to realize that if you click the arrows more than once, the camera setup will move faster....so going from wingtip to wing tip wont take 5 minutes like I had started out doing.

If you are currently using EZCA then use their utlity to clean up the config files prior to using OpusFSX.

Read the manual carefully, there are a few examples to get you started. We also povide some 737 example camera views.

You can change the speed of the green arrow keys with the speed slider, and you can also change between continuous and stepped mode.

Still confused. When I have the camera window open I am unable to minimize it so I close it but then the cameras don't work. If I have to keep the camera window dialog open where do I put it during my flight if I can't minimize it or make it go away??? That can't be right what am I doing wrong?

Hi Phillip

Please download the latest beta and consult the Lice Camera manual, you will find a step by step guide to creating a VC camera. Alternatively to start again, delete your FSXSERVER.CAM file, run the FSXSERVER program, it will copy the FSXSERVER_B737.CAM file for you so you have some 737NGX camera views already defined, you just need to assign your buttons to the views and of corse click on the Save All Cameras button to save your configuration.

But please read the manual especially the step by step guide.

Stephen

Hi

You only create camera views once and then don't need to open the dialog ever again. You must be missing a vital step somewhere in the creation of the camera views. You should have some 737 views by default which you can play with.

Try creating a default view using the example in the manual and tell me if that doesn't work.

Cheryl

Yesterday I was an idiot, today I'm a genius. Whatever! Anyway I got the cameras set up and I didn't so much read the manual but I tinkered with it and the light bulb in my head just came on. OPUSFSX has the best camera set up by far! It is really an oustanding piece of work compared to what I had previously. It's a real pleasure to set up the camera views and finally I can press a button and get the external views I could NEVER set up before in another program.

The cameras and weather upgrades by OPUS are a gift to FSX and are worth every penny of the asking price IMO! Thanks OPUS! :)

Definitely a class act, from the developers,Stephen and Cheryl.

It was the best money I have spent in recent memory!

Regards. :hi:

I have to agree with you. I have never been so amazed by a weather engine, let alone the camera control, which does a much better job, with easier setup than EZCA, which is dedicated to cameras only. Opus is well worth every penny spent on it.

I really like OPUS but I'm not sure about the winds since I took off in heavy gusts and saw no effects on my aircraft (camera not enabled ).

Is this still valid?
