October 26, 201213 yr Hiya Folks So, the inner geek in me is interested in the BAE146 Jetliner, but, having now found 2 suppliers of it, its now a "Which one do I choose" connundrum... So far the only ones I know of are: Just Flight's BAE 146-200.. Quality Wings Ultimate 146 Collection.. So, now I found a choice, which to choose, as I have no knowledge at all with either of those developers... Unless you guys all know of more developers of the BAE146/Avro? Shame PMDG dont make one :( I'm well impressed with the 737NGX Richard... Amateur Pilot and UK Web Hosting Guru 🙂
October 26, 201213 yr Hello The Quality wings version, far better quality all round and more systems modelled The Just flight version was developed by CLS and is a -200 only The QW version includes the Avro RJ70, RJ85 and RJ100 with the BAE 100, 200, and 300 coming at a later date as a free upgrade. There will also be three different avionics layouts available with two different FMC's Taken from the Flight1 site: BAe146-100 and -200 style cockpit (fully analogue) featuring GNS-XLS FMC BAe146-300 style cockpit (simple EFIS) featuring GNS-XLS FMC Avro RJ series style cockpit (full EFIS) featuring GNLU910 FMC It is really a no-brainer
October 26, 201213 yr QW, no question. It's not NGX, but it's a lot closer than the other one. Has cool little features like the cabin announcements going on in the background (if you queue things in the right order so it knows to do them), and there are some co-pilot readouts. And the 146s themselves are to follow for free (since the first models out are RJs). Mike Mike Dryden
October 26, 201213 yr Well, it depends on what you want in an add-on. If you are into high-fidelity simulations with accurate systems modeled, go for the QW version. But, if you are more of a casual simmer who wants something only a bit more complicated than the default aircraft, go for the JustFLight (CLS) model, which has much more simplified sytems but has a very good exterior/VC visual model. Considering that you own and enjoy the NGX, I assume that you would like the QW version more.
October 26, 201213 yr I second the previous posters. While I have no personal experience with the just flight one, I bought the quality wings version yesterday and was impresssed. They also just released SP2, which I haven't had a chance to try yet. The price is reasonable and once stage 3 is released it will be a really comprehensive package.
October 26, 201213 yr Commercial Member Qualitywings unless you absolutely want to have virtual cabin which one JF has but QW doesn't. Other than systems which obviously are better modeled in QW I also found QW flight dynamics to be way more alive and give more realistic feeling.
October 26, 201213 yr Author wow, cheers guys.... QW it is then.. I like the idea of a 4 engine jet that isnt a huge monster like the 747, and I quite like short flights, either within the UK or short EU hops.. Do any of you know what sort of range the 146 is capable of in term of Airports? Would it make it to Schipol or even further? Richard... Amateur Pilot and UK Web Hosting Guru 🙂
October 26, 201213 yr Would it make it to Schipol or even further? Hello From where ? RJ70 - Range with max fuel 3075km (1660nm), range with max payload 2665km (1440nm). RJ85 - range with max fuel 2965km (1600nm), range with max payload 2130km (1150nm). RJ100 - range with max fuel 2760km (1490nm), range with max payload 2130km (1150nm).
October 26, 201213 yr Author lol, stupid me, DOH! I generally like to fly out of Biggin hill / London heathrow / Gatwick, London and S.E really.. Based on those figures, I could easily make it to Budapest with a fair bit left over :-) Richard... Amateur Pilot and UK Web Hosting Guru 🙂
October 26, 201213 yr I generally like to fly out of Biggin hill / London heathrow / Gatwick, London and S.E really.. Based on those figures, I could easily make it to Budapest with a fair bit left over :-) I flew to Oslo from Brussels... thats about 1/½ to 2 hours?!
October 26, 201213 yr Author Nice.... Am wondering now if FS2Crew will clash, as I have the 737NGX version of FS2Crew, and would like to get the normal all model version too. Richard... Amateur Pilot and UK Web Hosting Guru 🙂
October 28, 201213 yr I am going for the justflight cause its got cabin views and detailed graphics. IMO the graphic quality on the quality wings version is better. Plus it does have a cabin modelled, in the external views. It is possible to put the camera inside the airplane and check out the cabin, such as in the NGX. Plus when stage 3 is released there will be 6 aircraft models and 3 cockpit styles.
October 28, 201213 yr I have Quality Wings Ultimate 146 Collection..Quality Wings BAE146/Avro (Avro released first). Good support / forum and Service Pack updates to quickly solve problems. Uses Flight One to purchase .. you have 30 days to return it if it is not right for you ... great policy! It is for FS9 and FSX also. I think JF model is FSX only and ... Sad to say, my last JF purchase 737-Professional Advanced (April 2012) never got a Service Pack to fix many issues after initial release .... so I just removed it from my hard drive ....
