March 28, 201313 yr I know this is an old post, however, I have the topcat configuration for the 737-800 refined and accurate. It is a lot different from the one post here because the OP didn't use the correct data. Here is the correct one. March 28, 201313 yr Does this actually work as it should? As far as I can tell NGX uses dynamically placed loading, which TOPCAT cannot work with. --Peter Fabian
March 28, 201313 yr Hi all. I followed the procedure from #14: 6. Copy the data that i put above in this forum topic (don't copy the orange text) ...8. In TPCAT Aicraft menu set "Add"9. Choose the options for your Aicraft and in "Configuration" setting choose the file that you create in step 610. Press "Save" button My question is that the file I created and renamed in step 6 won't show up in "Configuration" setting, so I cannot choose it. Any suggestions? Thank you. March 28, 201313 yr Check this line Aircraft=PMDG Mixed Class Winglets NGX The underlined part is what you are actually looking for. Thanks for the reply. Can you clarify please? I have a feeling I am not smart enough today. I created new file as described above and pasted it in configuration folder. After that when I open TOPCAT and selected "Aircraft - Edit" the option PMDG Mixed class Winglets NGX appeared. Before I did not see such option. So I selected it and weights look normal. Is that what you are talking about? Or I have to create Aircraft=PMDG Mixed Class Winglets NGX line in new txt file? March 29, 201313 yr OK. Found it. Just one thing. Looks like PMDG provides only two configurations for 800 winglets (there is no mixed class option in FMS): Single class and two class. The configuration above is a mixed class and it shown in TOPCAT, when I choose Payload distribution: Fwd Cabin, Mid Cabin & Aft Cabin. I9-13900K | ASUS ROG Strix Z790-E Gaming LGA 1700 | MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 4090 24GB | CORSAIR iCUE H150i ELITE LCD Liquid Cooler | CORSAIR DOMINATOR PLATINUM 64GB (2X36) 5200MHx DDR5 | Thermaltake GF3 1650W 80+ Gold PSU | Samsung QN90C Neo QLED TV 50”
March 29, 201313 yr The two class is the mixed class and yes the Fwd Cabin, Mid Cabin & Aft Cabin are correct. This information comes straight from the aircraft.cfg file. Look in the W&B section, you will see it.

Look in the W&B section, you will see it. Thank you. I was confused by Payload distribution option in TOPCAT. It shows all three cabins and there only two in FMC. Looks like Aft cabin is auto distributing passengers. Make sense now. April 7, 201313 yr Hi Everyone, I've been following this topic for some time and making my own calculations and changes to the config files as new information has been brought to light. I've been able to create what I think are some pretty accurate TOPCAT config files for all the NGX models for both the Single and Two class cabin layouts. If you wanted to give them a try you can download the ZIP folder containing my configs from my dropbox link below (I don't post too often so let me know if this isn't working): https://dl.dropbox.com/u/59841802/TOPCAT_Configs_PMDG_NGX.zip Things to note: All weights are in LBS, also - set your passenger weights in TOPCAT to 175lbs (this is how much an NGX passenger weighs) and only load ADULTS. No kids or infants. I've done a lot of comparing between the FMC weights and what actually appears in the FSX payload screens, as well as the aircraft.cfg files for each model. There seems to be some discrepancies in certain places, but I've tried best to determine which values work best in the config files. Also, I've added some notations within the config files themselves to give an idea of how much load each station can take, and each stations percentage of the total load. Lastly, I think I've done pretty well to get the MAC readings and V-speed predictions accurate. If you load up the aircraft and set an empty payload (no fuel either) you'll notice the CG reported by the FMC and from TOPCAT will be the exact same for all models. You can confirm this by checking the config file and seeing that I haven't needed to set a MAC_Shift value either. Defintely the last thing to note. when selecting the Aircraft model in TOPCAT - choose Boeing 737-700 for the -600 and -700 configurations, and select Boeing 737-800 for the -800 and -900 configurations. I'd be happy to see if anyone is able to improve on these configurations even more! For those who just wan't a quick glance, here's my config file for the -800 with a two class cabin layout: [GENERAL] Aircraft=NGX738 Two Class Units=LB [CONFIGURATION] Config=C12 Y150 Pax=162 Cargo=24825 Fuel=46063 DOW=91300 MZFW=138300 MTOW=174700 MLW=144000 // Value taken from FCOMv1 Pg.55 Assumed=Y Derate=Y Combine=Y [AIRCRAFT] aircraft.0=B737-800_GE [TRIM] wing_root_chord=18.9 wing_area=1348.000 wing_span=113.1 wing_sweep=23.5 wing_pos_apex_lon=7.15 empty_weight_CG_position=-5.51 MAC_Shift=0.0 [MAC_LIMITS_ZFW] mac.0=79823;10;25.9 mac.1=86822;9.85;27.65 mac.2=134409;7.99;30.5 mac.3=138298;8.96;30.72 mac.4=144500;9.61;30.9 mac.5=146299;19.15;31 [MAC_LIMITS_TOW] mac.0=79823;10;27.2 mac.1=134409;7.99;30.5 mac.2=138298;8.96;30.72 mac.3=144500;9.61;30.9 mac.4=161068;12.8;32.77 mac.5=172670;14.8;30.08 mac.6=174198;16.95;25.10 [MAC_LIMITS_LDW] mac.0=79823;10;25.9 mac.1=86822;9.85;27.65 mac.2=134409;7.99;30.5 mac.3=138298;8.96;30.72 mac.4=144500;9.61;30.9 mac.5=146299;19.15;31 [PASSENGER_STATIONS] station.0=48;16.1;Fwd Cabin;1 // 8400 / 29.63% (25% of station load is First Class) station.1=60;-5.9;Mid Cabin;2 // 10500 / 37.04% station.2=54;-28.1;Aft Cabin;3 // 9450 / 33.33% // 30450 [CARGO_STATIONS] station.0=11190;15.9;Fwd Cargo;4 // 11190 / 45.08% station.1=13635;-26.4;Aft Cargo;5 // 13635 / 54.92% // 24825 [FUEL] tank.0=-9.11;4 // 8630 / 18.74% tank.1=-1.884;1 // 28803 / 62.53% tank.2=-9.11;7 // 8630 / 18.74% // 46063 ;1 Centre Tank ;2 Centre Tank 2 ;3 Centre Tank 3 ;4 Left Main Tank ;5 Left Aux Tank ;6 Left Tip Tank ;7 Right Main Tank ;8 Right Aux Tank ;9 Right Tip Tank ;10 External Tank 1 ;11 External Tank 2 Luke Cerff
