December 7, 201213 yr Sorry, just thought that, since this is a forum dedicated to the NGX, I could share it with the people who own the NGX. Good day No need to apologise mate. As you can see all but one person were keen to read through your post. You even got some tips from Kyle who is always happy to help. Cheers. Jas Jaseman. Lovin it up here........ December 7, 201213 yr This is an automatic message. This topic has been moved from "PMDG 737NGX" to "The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum". This move has been done for a number of possible reasons. The most likely reason is that the post was off topic. The topic could also have contained images or a video that were not appropriate to the original forum it was posted in. The images might not have been "illustrative" or "explanatory" in nature. The topic could have been moved because we deemed it to be more appropriately placed elsewhere. Please ensure that your posts are "on topic" and contain illustrative images or videos as appropriate. Do not post videos or images just for entertainment purposes anywhere but in the screen shot or video forums. Members who continue to post off topic posts can be denied entry to specific forums in order to reduce and remove the practice. Your cooperation is appreciated.

December 8, 201213 yr It then says customers should interact with one another in a manner that is positive, supportive and assists in the general advancement of understanding the simulation and helping to make this and future simulations better. So for us, it's to assist one another and help make the simulation better. It's clearly not primarily for general chat about using the NGX. I'm sorry, but I don't think it's anywhere near as general as you seem to think. I enjoyed this thread and would like to see more like it in the NGX forum. People sharing their excitement and discoveries about the product seems to me to be well within the forum guidelines. When I encounter a thread that doesn't interest me I move on. I don't spend 10 minutes lecturing the OP about why the thread is irrelevant to me or how I think it has broken some innocuous rule. We all have the right to express our opinion, but that certainly doesn't mean that we have to. Ask yourself, what good was accomplished by you firing a BB into the OP's balloon? How would it have harmed you or anyone else to simply move on to the next thread and let those of us who are interested in this topic discuss it and the sub-issues that grew out of it in peace. Where I come from what you did was rude, bully-ish and outside the norms of the way we interact in the PMDG forums. You quote PMDG's guidelines for the forum and then immediately paraphrase only the section that seems to suit you. What about the bit about "assists in the general advancement of understanding the simulation"? If it's old hat to you that the NG can cross the pond, please consider that you are probably in the minority, and that threads like this do in fact "assist in the general advancement of understanding the simulation" for a large number of users. As far as moving the topic to the Screenshots forum, this makes absolutely no sense to me whatsoever. The OP's intention was not primarily to post pics but to use the pics to help readers grasp what he was presenting. This is normative in the PMDG forums and has been going on for as long as I can remember. As such, the thread is completely out of place here. It's an NGX topic and should have remained there for further user participation. Putting it in the Screenshots forum essentially kills it, and IMHO this is unfair to the OP as well as to others who were participating. - Jev McKee, AVSIM member since 2006. If it's old hat to you that the NG can cross the pond, please consider that you are probably in the minority, and that threads like this do in fact "assist in the general advancement of understanding the simulation" for a large number of users. What you are essentially saying is that if you disagree with the subject you should keep quiet. That just breeds a yes-man mentality, where everything is good and no one criticises, constructively or otherwise. Neither good nor healthy. Without constructive criticism there is no way to move forward. I wasn't selective at all, I quoted the most relevant phrase. I certainly can't see how this thread "assisted in the advancement of understanding the simulation." It describes a flight the OP decided to take. There's no advancement of understanding, it was not unknown that the NGX can fly long ranges. That's not to say it wasn't interesting but it doesn't belong in the forum it was posted in, according to PMDG and Avsim rules. Unlike you, I don't want to see more of this type thread in the PMDG support forum. I don't see it as a place for people to chat about their use of PMDG products. It's a place where you can bring problems you have about using PMDG products and find answers. We must agree to differ on this but the mods have now decided which view is more in accordance with their rules for the PMDG forums. So further debate about that is rather pointless unless you can persuade PMDG and Avsim to change their rules. If that happens I will support it. As far as moving the topic to the Screenshots forum, this makes absolutely no sense to me whatsoever. The OP's intention was not primarily to post pics but to use the pics to help readers grasp what he was presenting. It's an NGX topic and should have remained there for further user participation. Putting it in the Screenshots forum essentially kills it, and IMHO this is unfair to the OP as well as to others who were participating. I think it makes perfect sense. Where else can the mods put it? The screenshots weren't necessary to describe the test flight the OP tried out. After all, we all know what the NGX looks like in various phases of a flight. Funnily enough my NGX looks exactly like the OP's. The only purpose of the screenshots is to show the OPs eye for a good picture composition. Hence they belong here more than they do in a product support forum.
December 8, 201213 yr Just an example of moving to suit one person. The subject matter is clear. Hope ole mate is happy. Jas Jaseman. Lovin it up here........ Catch us over at MassieSim32 -> https://discord.gg/B4buuHGhcr
December 8, 201213 yr Where to begin.... First, I enjoyed reading this post. The first part of it to be exact. I appreciated it and thank the OP to taking the time to share it. Second, IMO the screenshots not only make the post more interesting, but they actually led to a problem (in procedure, not product i.e. picture #6) being discovered -> solutions being offered -> the issue being discussed -> possibilities being eliminated and a solution being found and implemented. What if another customer came along and happens to notice that they're seeing the same "weird red ring" on the PFD? While it isn't an earth-shattering issue, it's a form of support in procedural correctness (which is what most people are striving for, I think). The OP learned something about the NGX that they didn't beforehand. And without the screenshots, nobody would have known. While it may have not been intentional, the post resulted in information, clarificating and support being offered to people who fly the NGX. But hey, that's just my opinion. OP: Any reason why you had the "more cluttered" version of the PFD's in the first photos? Personally, I used that setting for awhile, but eventually got sick of it. Do you know if any carriers still use that? Dave Wegner - Don't be afraid of common sense or the search function.
December 9, 201213 yr I personally don't see how this type of post is less enriching than linking a YouTube video. The latter occurs more frequently in the PMDG forums, but is not generally met with such strong opinions. However, despite this post's uniqueness, it probably has a place in the screen shots forum.
December 10, 201213 yr The move will at least make one person happy. Lol Jas Come on Jas, that's the rules. I don't make them, the team does, but we all enforce them, and will continue to do so. Lighten up a wee tiny little bit why don't you? You are beginning to sound like the cross old lady from across the street! Kind regards,
